Outline of: "Sexy through out the ages"

By: Galo Jimenez, Chelsea Mata, Luis Videgaray and Rebeca Holguin
What is sexy? Is the adjective of Slang Highly appealing or interesting; attractive.
Sexy throughout the years. Once, women were sexy for showing their natural bodies. Being thin
hasnt always sexy. Actually, the beauty and body type has gone through many changes over
hundred years, showing that there will never be a characteristic for sexy, and probably it will be
very different in 100 years from now. To prove how our definition of sexy has changed, weve
copied a timeline of the major womens over the past 600 years, starting with the Rome until the
present. As we qualified from body types to beauty. You may be surprised about how sexy has
changed so drastically over years.
Since sexy was not something that started in this generation, the definition of what is sexy and
whats not has changed over the years. So lets begin where beauty was first recorded. Rome.
Back in the glory days of the roman empire, curves or fat (whatever you want to call it) was
considered sexy. People believe because maybe an emperor loved fat women so the sense of
beauty got stucked through the era of the roman empire. But even after the fall of rome the
sense of fashion remained the same in the renaissance.
From there, sexiness changed little by little and in 1837 during the victorian era, sexiness was
defined as women using a corset so they would have a thinner waist, but this made it harder for
women to breath. Flash forward to the year 1920. Women started using a long dress that would
hide their curves. And in the Hollywood Golden Age the sense of what is sexy changed into
what is today. Women payed more attention to what they ate. They started to use a more
feminine look. So what happened in the Golden Age Fashion sense is the same that is today.
So there wasnt just one kind of sexy, it all depends on what is going on in the world.
The meaning of sexy had many changes throw out the years. This topic always had affected on
society but not like now. In this new century the meaning of "sexy" changed from Marillyn
Monroe being the sexiest woman in earth to models of Victoria Secret, and obviously this is a
big change for the meaning and society. The generation most affected for this change are the
teenagers because they want to stay more focused more on how they look instead of their
healthiness. Some diseases the teenagers suffer more right now are: Anorexia, Bulimia,
Anxiety, and more.
This diseases are the cause of low self esteem or just wanting to "enter" to society. This topic
brings us to -Eating Disorders-. Eating disorders are so common in America that 1 or 2 out of
every 100 students will struggle with one. Each year, thousands of teenagers develop eating
disorders, or problems with weight, eating, or body image. They're extremes in eating behavior
the diet that never ends or it gets more strict.
Now that we have showed you what sexy is and was we can see that it has changed a lot
throughout the years and it has affected society a lot creating this new "role models" to follow
for teens and little kids. It also has caused a lot of diseases like we explained earlier in the
presentation. So as we can see sexy has affected a lot our society and changed through the
years. So the one thing to ask is: What will sexy be next?
