He, may Allh endow His Mercy upon him, was born on the last day of Jumdl khirah
in the year 1328 AH- 1910 CE in the stronghold of Tangier.

He grew up under the care of his father, may Allh endow His Mercy upon him. He
memorized the Glorious Qurn according to the recitation of Warsh, and then af,
then he proceeded to memorize some religious texts. He memorized most of Mandhmat
al-Kharrz which is named Mawrid al-Thamn, a large part of al-Alfiyya, al-Arban al-
Nawawiyya, al-Ajirmiyya and a part of Bulgh al-Marm and of Mukhtaar Khall.

He read under the tutoring of his brother Ab al-Fay the explanation of al-Ajirmiyya
by al-Azhar. Prior to that he had briefly covered the meanings of its terms with his
maternal uncle al-Sayyid Amad the son of Abdul afdh the son of Ajbah.

At the orders of his father he traveled to Fez to seek the knowledge at the University of
al-Qarawyyn. He read the explanation of al-Alfiyya by al-Makkd under the tutoring of
Shaykh al-Sharf al-abb al-Mahj, also he read the explanation by al-Makkd along
with shiyat Ibn al-jj under the tutoring of Shaykh Muammad the son of al-jj the
son of al-Muashsh and he attended the explanation of Ibn Aql and the shiyat al-
Sij under the tutoring of Shaykh Muammad al-jj the cousin of the one previously
mentioned.

He attended the beginning of the explanation of Mukhtasar Khall by al-Kharsh under
the tutoring of Shaykh al-abb al-Mahj, and the book of al-Jinyt wa-m Ilayh
under the tutoring of Shaykh Amad al-Qdir. He read the chapter of al-Buy
(dealings) and what is after under the tutoring of Shaykh Muammad al-inhj, and
other chapters under the tutoring of Shaykh Muammad the son of the aforementioned
al-jj and the grand scholar Amad the son of al-Jiln, and a part of al-Mukhtasar the
explanation of al-Zarn under the tutoring of the grand scholar Abdullh al-Fuayl.
He studied the chapter of al-Ijra up to the end of al-Mukhtaar the explanation of al-
Shaykh al-Dardr under the tutoring of Abdul Ramn the son of al-Qurash.

He attended Fari al-Mukhtasar the explanation of al-Kharsh and shiyat Amad
the son of al-Khayy under the tutoring of Ab al-Shit al-inhj.

He attended the explanation of al-Bukhr by al-Qastalln under the tutoring of Shaykh
Muammad the son of al-jj in the Mosque of Mawly Idrs, and he attended the
circles of Shaykh al-usayn al-Irq in the Mosque of Abdul Ramn al-Mll, and he
attended shiyat al-Shinwn al Ibn Ab Jamrah under the tutoring of the grand
scholar Abdul ayy al-Kittn in the Mosque of al-Qarawyyin.

He attended Jmi al-Jawmi the explanation of al-Maall from its beginning up to the
segment of al-Sunnah under the tutoring of Shaykh al-usayn al-Irq, and al-
Muqaddimt of the same book under the tutoring of the grand scholar Abdullh al-
Fuayl, and major portion of the same under the tutoring of Shaykh al-Abbs Binn
and under his tutoring he took al-Maqlt al-Ashr and al-Tawhd by Ibn `Ashr.

He attended Risalat al-Wa under the tutoring of Shaykh Abdullh al-Fuayl and the
explanation of al-Quwaysin `al al-Salm under the tutoring of Shaykh al-abb al-
Mahj.

During his stay in Fez he met al-Sayyid Muammad the son of Jafar al-Kattn, and was
authorized to narrate by al-Sayyid Mahd al-Azz who narrates from the route of two
people from al-Sayyid Murta al-Zabd who died in the year 1205 AH .

He returned to Tangiers after he embedded knowledge and skill and stood out among his
peers and he taught al-Ajirmiyya and Rislat al-Qayrawn at al-Zwiya al-iddqiyya.
He used to attend his fathers lessons in a al-Bukhr and al-Ashbh wal-Nadhir by
al-Suy and Mughn al-Labb and reviewed the explanation of al-Dammn and
awsh al-Amr and al-Dusq and `Abdul Hd Naj al-Abyr and other than that.

In the midst of all of that he wrote the first of his compiled works which is an elaborate
explanation of al-Ajirmiyya which was named by his brother al-fidh Abul Fay
Tashyd al-Mabn Litaw m awathu al-Muqaddimat al-Ajirmiyya min al-aqiq
wal-Man.

Toward the end part of Shabn 1349AH-1930G he traveled to Egypt and joined al-
Azhar al-Mamr and attended the explanation of al-Malw al al-Salm and shiyat
al-abbn under the tutoring of Shaykh Abdul Qdir al-Zantn al-arbulus. He also
attended Jmi al-Jawmi the explanation of al-Maall from the chapter of al-Qiys up
to its end and al-Rislat al-Samarqandiyyah f db al-Bath wal-Mundhara under the
tutoring of the grand scholar Muammad asanayn Makhlf al-Adaw al-Mlik.

He attended the explanation of al-Asnaw al Minhj al-Ul lil-Bayw under the
tutoring of Shaykh mid Jd and Tahdhb al-Sad bi-Shar al-Khabi f al-Maniq
under the tutoring of Shaykh Mamd Imam Abdul Ramn al-Manr al-anaf and
he heard from him al-adth al-Musalsal bil-Awwaliyya.

At the orders of his father he directed himself toward the Shfi Fiqh and attended al-
Manhj for Shaykh Zakariyy under the tutoring of Shaykh Muammad Izzat and read
Sharh al-Khtib al Ab Shuj under the tutoring of Shaykh Abdul Majd al-Sharqw.
He attended the lessons of Shaykh Muammad Bakht al-Muyy in al-Tafsr wal-

Hidya in the anaf Fiqh and his shiyat al Shar al-Asnaw al Minhj al-Ul and
he authorized him an all inclusive authorization (ijza amma).

He attended lessons in Sunan al-Tirmidh under the tutoring of Shaykh Muammad al-
Saml who authorized him an all inclusive authorization (ijza amma) just as other
scholars have also authorized him.

In the year 1350 AH-1931 CE he took the test of lamiyyat al-Ghurab which
encompasses twelve kinds of knowledge and he passed, and he obtained the degree of
lamiyyat al-Ghurab and then he obtained lamiyyat al-Azhar.

He achieved the printing of tens of volumes pertaining to al-adth and other books
from their original manuscripts.

He died, may Allh endow His mercy on him, in the year 1413 after the Hijrah 1993 CE
in Tangiers and was buried therein next to his father.
