Research on Laboratory Equipment and Apparatus used in Electricity, Magnetism,
and Optics.

ITEM PICTURE DESCRIPTION/FUNCTION
Voltmeter

a kind of Galvanometer that is used for
measuring voltage potential of an electric
circuit or the potential difference between
two points.
Multimeter

a versatile equipment for measurement of
different electrical quantities in a circuit. In
the course of lab work it is often required to
measure voltage, current and resistance.
Instead of using three different meters it is
better to use a Multimeter.
Magnet

commonly used for the experiments such as
the changes in magnetic fields, magnetic force,
etc..
Ammeter

a measuring instrument used to measure the
electric current in a circuit. Electric currents
are measured in amperes, hence the name.
Lens

optical device
which transmits and refracts light, converging
or diverging the beam..
Magnifying Glass

A magnifying glass is a convex lens that lets
the observer see a larger image of the object
being observed.
Cameras

optical devices that allow a user to record an
image of an object, either on photo paper or
digitally.
Telescope

The aids in observation of remote objects by
collecting electromagnetic radiaton, such as
visible light.
Current Balance
Experiment Set

Examination of the force on a wire, in which
current passes through, in a magnetic field
Examination of the changes of the force on the
wire when the length of the wire changes
Examination of the changes of the force on the
wire when the magnetic field strength changes.
Drawing the graph of these changes
Examination of the changes of the force on the
loop of wire when the angle of the magnetic
field and the current change.
Van de Graaff
Generator

an electrostatic generator which uses a moving
belt to accumulate very high amounts of
electrical potential on a hollow metal globe on
the top of the stand.
Helmholtz Coils

a device for producing a region of nearly
uniform magnetic field, named after the
German physicist Hermann von Helmholtz. It
consists of two solenoid electromagnets on the
same axis. Besides creating magnetic fields,
Helmholtz coils are also used in scientific
apparatus to cancel external magnetic fields,
such as the Earth's magnetic field.

Generating electric current via magnetic
induction
Reading the current of an RL circuit
Finding the parameters which the inducted
current is dependent on
Understanding the impedance concept
Electric Generator

is a device that converts mechanical
energy to electrical energy.
Electronic Oscillator

an electronic circuit that produces a
repetitive, oscillating electronic signal, often
a sine wave or a square wave.
[1][2]
Oscillators
convert direct current (DC) from a power
supply to an alternating current signal. They
are widely used in many electronic devices.
Common examples of signals generated by
oscillators include signals broadcast
by radio and television transmitters, clock
signals that regulate computers and quartz
clocks, and the sounds produced by electronic
beepers and video games.
Coil

electromagnetic coil is an
electrical conductor such as a wire in the shape
of a coil, spiral or helix.
[1][2]
Electromagnetic
coils are used inelectrical engineering, in
applications where electric currents interact
with magnetic fields, in devices such
as inductors, electromagnets, transformers,
and sensor coils. Either an electric current is
passed through the wire of the coil to
generate a magnetic field, or conversely an
external time-varyingmagnetic field through
the interior of the coil generates
an EMF (voltage) in the conductor.
Prism

in optics, a prism is a transparent optical
element with flat, polished surfaces that
refract light. At least two of the flat surfaces
must have an angle between them. The exact
angles between the surfaces depend on the
application.
Incandescent Light
Bulb, Incandescent
Lamp or Incandescent
Light Globe

an electric light which produces light with a
wire filamentheated to a high temperature by
an electric current passing through it, until it
glows
Optical Bench

commonly used in physics labs today, and
consists of a long, rigid member with a linear
scale applied to it. Holders for light sources,
lenses and screens are placed on the apparatus
so that image formation can be observed.
Hand Driven
Stroboscope

use whenever you need to optically slow down
or stop an object in motion. Can also be used to
measure the frequency of motion. Great for
ripple tanks.
AC Power Plugs and
Sockets,

electrical devices used to connect to a power
source onto which another device can be
plugged or screwed in.
Voltameter or
Coulometer

a scientific instrument used for
measuring quantity of electricity (electric
charge). The SI unit of quantity of electricity
is the coulomb, while the SI unit for electric
potential is the volt.
Battery Holder

one or more compartments or chambers for
holding a battery. For dry cells, the holder
must also make electrical contact with the
battery terminals. For wet cells, cables are
often connected to the battery terminals, as is
found in automobiles or emergency lighting
equipment.
Electric Battery

a device consisting of one or
more electrochemical cells that convert stored
chemical energy into electrical energy.

There are still plenty of Laboratory Equipments and Apparatuses out there. The given list are just
examples. By these, we can totally imagine how creative humans are. Curiosity is one of the reasons why these
things exist. We, humans, have infinite curiosity about many things! But we must remember this: ALL HAVE
LIMITATIONS. Its not Prediction; Its a Fact. Thats why some say Curiosity Kills The Cat.
Tik Tok Tik Tok ! It is time to think about it,,, when theres still time!
