The BIDOYNG is a revolutionary smart fuse for low voltage power networks that improves efficiency. It fits into existing fuse positions and uses two fuses in parallel to automatically re-energize the network after a fault. When used with a gateway unit, it provides remote monitoring and control of circuits, enabling fault detection and scheduling of maintenance. This improves network performance while reducing costs.

BIDOYNG The Smart Fuse is a revolutionary development in Low Voltage Network Management. The BIDOYNG is designed for wide deployment on the LV system and is exceptionally simple to install and use. The unit fts into existing LV fuse positions and is based upon the patented concept of two LV fuses in parallel, creating a robust single-shot auto-recloser. The primary fuse carries the load current until a fault causes it to operate. Then, after a pre-programmed delay the secondary fuse is switched in and the network re-energised. Incorporating extensive communications and intelligence, the BIDOYNG enables the development of a real Smart Grid for the distribution network. The modern utility can now create a more efcient, low carbon network while also signifcantly improving performance. Fuse replacements can be scheduled and embedded fault location means the cost of fnding and repairing intermittent faults is considerably reduced. Overview Above: BIDOYNG units installed in a fuse cabinet Above: An installed BIDOYNG The BIDOYNG can be used in isolation on a single circuit but when accompanied by the Gateway (a remotely programmable, communications and control unit) the benefts are greatly enhanced. The information available via the Gateway provides visibility of the LV network: > Each Gateway communicates with up to 15 BIDOYNG units via low power radio > GSM/GPRS for external communications & real-time status of each circuit > Full web-based interface for detailed information > Receive updates on critical feeders via SMS and / or email > Remotely upgrade units via comms link > Better performance from the LV network
Dramatically reduce CMLs and CIs > Minimise cost and impact of intermittent faults Embedded fault location and early detection of developing faults Built-in voltage and current measurement > Efciencies in manpower and fnancial resources Target repairs more accurately Apply resources when and where they are needed > Manage and extend life of underground cable assets > Integrate into an existing network management system (e.g. ENMAC) > Load profling of the LV network Key Benefts Above: A screenshot of BIDOYNG Web - A web-based interface displaying real-time information from installed BIDOYNG units System Above: A screenshot from the Gateway - The wireless interface between BIDOYNG and remote users.
