Key Responsibilities :
Lead and facilitate the development of methodology to determine and control the
treatment chemical concentration, system performance indicators and its effective
implementation for the sustenance of water quality based on design
parameters/specifications all the time and round the clock.
Adequate protection of Cooling System from corrosion, scaling, micro-biological fouling
accompanied with dissolved and suspended waterimpurities.
Selection of Key Performance Indicators and subsequent monitoring such as chemical
and water consumption, power, energy saving and maintaining system integrity and
efficiency.
Introduction of new chemical treatment to overcome the problems of traditional
conventional chemical treatment and control system if any.
Effective monitoring & coordination of Cooling Towers dynamic system apart from
DM water, due to daily changes in makeup water quality, heat load and blow
down water with correlation of all parameters together and initiation of predictive
actions.
Continual reduction in water consumption by minimizing water to bleed (higher COC>5
i.e. increasing cycles of concentration) and integration & implementation of 3R
principles (Reduce, reuse & recycle) with cost benefit analysis to achieve cost
effectiveness in entire Water Chemistry & Management.
Development and initiation of water mission to highlight best practices in water usage
and examples for water conservation in Power sector and its implementation in phased
manner.
Sharing & dissemination of best practices across the plant besides bench marking in
order to encourage all concerned personnel to excel and imbibe a culture
of water conservation and cost effectiveness within the organization.
Evaluation of the performance and efficiency of Boiler water, waste-water treatment
programme and initiation of changes / modification for optimization of operations.
Lab Management such as control on procurement, consumption of chemicals and Lab-
wares apart from Scheduled Operation, timely Maintenance/Calibration of WTP Lab,
SWAS's sensors and instruments etc.
Documentation and technical support for water chemistry management including
compilation of drawings, manuals, procedures, monitoringpractices etc. Development
and review / up gradation / sharing of Standard Operating Practices related to Chemical
systems.
Support and guidance on regular effective monitoring of
the water chemistry management practices at site and immediate correction of deviation
on daily basis.
Provide technical training for operation & maintenance of RO, DM plant, Cooling Tower
to site personals on regular intervals.
Review of reports/log sheets for important key parameters as well as interaction with
treatment agency, WTP, DM Plant, Cooling Tower associates and Sites / Higher
Management.
Provide strategic leadership in the development and management
of water chemistry with particular focus to ensure water quality as per design
specifications specially for critical equipment like boiler tubes, turbines, condensers etc.
Manage compliance with ISO 9001 , ISO , 14000 and ISO 18000 compliance .
Knowledge of steam water chemistry ,lub oil quality , Flu gas analysis , Coal quality
,stack emission , and effluent treatment etc
Salary:
INR 25,00,000 - 35,00,000 P.A
