ISLLC Standard I- VISION

TIME: From: 8:00 To: 8:30 Hours: 0 hr. 30 min. Hours To Date: 0 hr. 30 min.

Date:9/16/13; 9/18-9/21/13
Activity/Experience:
Had a second parent meeting to go over the expectations of 5
th
grade camp once again. An initial meeting
was held before school was out last May. This is a follow up meeting. Our camping trip runs for two
nights and three days. It is in Muskegon, Michigan at Camp Pinewood. My grade partners and I are in
charge for the two nights and three days. We all take on leadership roles similar to a principal during that
time. If there is a problem we have to create a solution because of her other duties in the building my
principal does not attend camp.
Reflection and Evaluation of Experience:
The parent meeting went very well. The parents are excited about the new experiences their child will
receive.
The camping trip is always a little stressful on the initial day when collecting medications and making
sure the children have all of their items they will need to be successful at camp. Camp worked out
absolutely wonderful. We are all a little exhausted, but with the exception of some minor issues we all
survived!!!!

Parent Meeting was approximately one hour.
Camp responsibilities and management of students, staff, and activities/programming was approximately
10 hours of administrative responsibilities.

Met in our PLC grade level group and talked about forming a schedule for the co-taught classroom and
tried to work on arranging that with my other two grade mates.
Reflection and Evaluation of Experience:
The co-taught classroom is the room that I teach, so I am taking on a leadership role in trying to schedule
everything for our 5
th
grade team. The task is challenging because am I not only working with my own
team, but we have to coordinate with 3
rd
-5
th
grade because we all share the special education teacher.
This is a challenge!!

Working on a schedule took an additional 2 hours with changes that I am sure will have to be made.

some adjustments and show it to the other grade levels and see if this will be the final draft. I sure hope
so!!!

I wish we could all meet together to try and revise and fix this. It is hard when their PLC time is not
scheduled as the same as ours. We might have to meet after school to revise the schedule if there is still
errors in it.

that happens at the beginning of the staff meetings called Celebrations and Achievements. It was
received very well and in my own style there has to be dancing involved so we danced to the song
Happy. We also watched a TED Talk on Happiness. It was very effective and everyone left on a
