A Message from Sara

What to expect this year
I am very excited to be working with the
clubs in Area B1 this year. I am here to help
each of you reach the goals your club has set
this year. How can I help you? We all know
the focus of Toastmasters is to support the
member’s development as speakers, leaders
and communicators. The club supports the
member’s as they develop their skills, but who
supports the club? District 31 leaders cannot
do it all. This is where the Area steps in. The
Area Governor has many functions:
1- Act as Liaison between the
club’s and the organization.
2- Run speech contests 2 times a
year.
3- Provide opportunities for your
club to increase membership.
4- Help you set a vision and goals
for the year.
5- Visit the club.
This year I plan on being a bit more
proactive than past Area Governors
may have been. I think each club has
the potential to be reach Distinguished
Status. I also think we can work
together to support the other clubs
reaching for these goals.

What to expect this year

AREA COUNCIL MEETINGS
Supporting each other will help us be better leaders 1 2 3 4

exchange ideas, celebrate our successes and help

SPEECH CONTESTS
We will have 2 contests this year. As soon as I have
the dates for those contests I will let you know.
Please let me know if your club would like to host one August
of the speech contests.

CLUB VISITS

in. The other will be determined based on your
