with a small smile, the silveret walks up to the hero of light, wrapping his arms around sora' s
waist and pulling close. "hey," he murmured softly before ti pping down to briefly seal the distant
between their mouths. "happy birthday."
A comforting hold painted intimately by a swift yet affectionate kiss was more than enough for Sora.
He peered up at Riku with a subtle smile and delighted eyes, and as he was quite obviously pleased, it
was likely no surprise when he embraced the older boy. Thanks, Riku.
AVALANCHE! The snow is coming down the mountain at you! Better get out of there, like, yesterday!
Leon, everyone should know, happened to be a pretty graceful individual. Honestly, it was practically impossible
to be any good with a gunblade without being at least a little graceful, and Leon was a master. He was also
getting really good at the handyman business, considering the amount of work being put into restoring Radiant
Garden. The warrior was working to keep his skills sharp, but most of his time was spent on fixing buildings and
the like. He was as steady walking on a slanted roof as he was on the ground, and he wasnt prone to dizzy spells
in the slightest.

Except those times way back when where he fainted and dreamed his way through some of his fathers memories
without knowing it was his father and just thinking it was some random moron. That didnt count, though it was
why he was so surprised when he was walking across a roof patrolling for Heartless (they liked to keep their eyes
open, just in case), swayed and felt the familiar light-headedness. Hyne, not again.
Then, he fell.
He didnt pass out, surprisingly, but he thought he was about to be incredibly upset with that when he hit the hard
ground about ten feet below. Instead, he felt a sudden shift in temperature and landed with a strangely soft
sound. Into a snow drift. Where the hell had a snowdrift come from? He righted himself quickly, flailing around
in the snow for a second to get right side up, and looked around in horror at a white landscape sweeping up and
down a mountainside around him. Where the hell was he? There were two other forms moving around in the
distance. One instantly took his attention when the guy cursed and shouted to them, but it didnt stay there long.
There was a deep rumbling, and Leon glanced up steep side of the mountain to seewow, this was going to suck.

He started running, nearly tripping and landing on his face no less than three times crawling out of the snowdrift
and trying to hightail it down the mountain in over a foot of fresh snow, and didnt bother looking back. It didnt
matter, because he could hear the avalanche as it descended upon him, and while he assumed the other two were
also running, he didnt look to see. He ran, and while he gave it a good try, he didnt get far before the tidal
wave of snow washed over him, twisting around and burying him under who knew how much. When he came to a
stop, he took a moment to simply realize just how fucking cold it was, catch his breath, and then try to move.
Easier said than done. This was going to take awhile.
He began the arduous task of trying to push the looser snow out of the way so that he could start digging his way
out, cursing the whole time. He honestly couldnt even tell which way was up, so once he had a little space
around his face, he spit.

Okay, so up was left. Time to dig.
Having been born on a tropical island, being raised and living there for all of his life, it was safe to sayor assumethat Riku was
definitely not fond of cold weather. Most days, if not all, throughout the year, the silver-haired teen would bathe within the warm light
of the sun. The chances of Destiny Islands ever being hit with freezing cold weather were one in a million. Rain would pour down on
occasion, but snow and hail were practically nonexistent. So when Riku fell headfirst into a thick, thick layer of snowonly to realize that
he was completely surrounded by snowany trace of positivity disappeared within seconds.

It took the silveret a moment or two to move onto his feet. The massively piled up crystal flakes broke his fall, to a degree, but even
falling in snow wasnt all that wonderful. (Though if it hadnt have been snow but rather actual solid ground, dealing with a possible
headache or concussion wouldnt have been too lovely, considering Rikus current situation.) Blinking once, then twice, Riku heaved a
dark sigh before pushing himself off the ground and onto his feet. Only to sink several inches back into the snow. Well, isnt this going to
be fun?
But thank fucking God he decided to wear the black coat that day.
With a scowl, Riku lifted a hand to run it through his hair, aquatic eyes scanning the area. Mountains lined out the large mass of snow and
nothing else with color could be seen from Rikus standpoint. All around him was snow, snow, snow. Sighing darkly again, the silveret
started trudging his way through, slow step after slow step because why the hell was walking in snow such a god damn challenge? As he
trudged, he ran through the several thoughts that caused his head to spinwhere the hell am I? How the hell did I even get here? Can I
even get back home? What the fuck is even going on? Though as he walked, another question came to mind and he paused, looking around
him completely again. Have Ibeen here before? The area felt rather familiar. Mountains, snow Oh. He knew where he was.

Just then, there came a rumblea loud one. With eyes wide, Riku turned around to see what the noise was andwell, fuck. Just great.
Brows furrowed and jaw clenched in mere distress, he took several steps back, muttering several strings of curse words. An avalanche was
occurring, tum-tum-tumbling down the mountain, and Riku had to get out of thereFAST. Problem was, he knew he couldnt outrun the
oncoming snow slip and if he thought about it at the time, he couldve just summoned a portal to get the hell out of there. But no, in this
moment of distress, as much of a clear thinker as he was, Riku didnt consider as many possibilities as he couldve. Creating a barrier
around him mightve worked but how well would it?
Not much time left to think because Riku definitely had to get his ass out of there.
Turning around, he quickly started to head down the mountain, stumbling as he went though desperately trying to keep steady. As he ran,
he managed to catch sight of another figure dashingand stumbling, much like the silveretdownwards. (How had he not seen him
earlier?) The sight, however, having grabbed his attention, caused the teenager to trip (way to go, Riku) and momentarily, just like the
snow slip, Riku went tum-tum-tumbling down. He managed to slide to a halt after a moment, but damn, the snow was catching up.
Thinking it was worth a shot, Riku braced himself as a barrier formed around him, plummeting chunks of snow crashing over and against
him.

It didnt last for too long, as Riku expected, and of course, he wound up being caught in the snow. And man, Riku really fucking hated
snow right now.

Theyre standing two feet above sea level on a stunning tropical island. This world is bathed in vermillion beneath the hanging sunlight
while the ocean exhales a salty chorus. It smells like sunscreen and fragrant flora. With shoes buried in the sand and eyes cast to the
horizon, the young man squints and wonders if this sight should spark a memory.
Beside him stands another boy around his own age, except hes nearly a head taller and his hair is a silvery-lilac and his eyes lonely pierce
like daggers. Hed said, My name is Riku. Hed said, Your name is Sora. Hed said, This is Destiny Islands, where we grew up.
Riku. Sora. Destiny Islands.
Are those names supposed to draw an emotion beyond a distant longing? The brunets hands clench into fists as he gathers his thoughts
and tries to recall, yet his memory only extends to an hour ago when hed told this other boyRiku, Riku, Rikuthat he wasnt sure who
the hell he was, delivered the very same way.
I dont know who the hell I am.
Sora frowns with muscle memory and drops his bottom into the sand. Its really pretty, he speaks finally, glancing up at RikuRiku,
Riku, Rikuwith just a glimmer of hope that maybe he can stop being such a disappointment. (Thats all hes been for the last hour,
perhaps longer, but he cant say that for sure.) Were lucky we grew up here, huh? Its sorta like a painting, although he cant
remember ever seeing a painting or even a simple piece of artwork.
Welcome home, I guess.
Rikus seen this image more than a thousand timeshes memorized the azure skies and the glistening waters; the sound that the wind
makes as it dances around the islands and the crash of the waves as they rise to the shore only to fall back into the large mass of water.
Hes felt the warmth of the sand on his skin, the rays of the ever so bright sun shining down on him. Hes heard the cries of the gulls and
the gentle swish of palm tree leaves brushing together.
All of this has been committed to memory for the silveret. But to Sora, its practically as if hes taken all of this in for the very first time.
To Sora, all of this is just an introduction. Who are you? Who am I? Where are we and how did we get here? To Riku, its starting over
again. With the knowledge he possesses, it has become his job to refill the blankness of the younger teens mind. Rikus name is given
first, then followed by Soras. The name of their home is presented lastThis is Destiny Islands, where we grew up. And Riku hopes it
jogs some part of his best friends memory.
Nothing.
He stands beside the now sitting brunet, aquatic eyes briefly glancing as the younger teen plops down onto sand before reverting back to
staring at the horizon. Yeah, youre right, is the elders initial response. Almost unreal, isnt it? The tone of his voice is somewhat
light but the expression worn on his face couldve said otherwise. Hes distressed, but he cant wont say so. Its bad enough as it is, he
thinks, and there isnt any need to further upset Sora, either.
Fresh starts have been made before but never did Riku expect for this to ever come.

DEAR INBOX,

Im really tired of your crap. Im trying to answer these wonderful messages and express my endless gratitude to these people for wishing
me a faster recovery, and youre going to eat my answers? You are really making this more difficult than it needs to be.
To top it OFF, you keep repeating the same messages and I LOSE some of the replies I need to answer in all of this mess. You repeat icons
or just dont notice them in the first place and youre driving me bananas.
Sincerely

Have you ever?
Constriction of the chest; asphyxiation of the mind; whitewash of icy liquid coiling a knot deep in the
gut making fingers quake and blood freeze.
Without reason?
Only to find that somehow youve started to cry but there are no recollections why? Why?
Vain has to stop walking and place his head on the railing, hide his eyes and sob until the desire
subsides.
Without reason.
