The pressure load combined with the high service tempe- ratures produces a slow but continuous microstructural variation of the steel, causing a progressive reduction of the properties of the material it- self: this phenomenon is called Creep. Since 1957 TenarisDalmine has been conducing studies on this topic in cooperation with reco- gnized international R&D la- boratories. It is member of the European Creep Collaborative Committee and participates in European R&D programs on boiler materials. Its creep laboratory conducts extensive studies and characte- rizations on all the boiler mate- rials, with single tests reaching durations of more than 100000 hours. Tenaris performs deep analyses on the microstructural evolution, in order to verify the long term stability of the mate- rials in service conditions. 1000 10000 100000 1000000 100 10 TIME [Hours] EXAMPLE OF ISOTHERMAL CURVES FOR CREEP RUPTURE DATA 1000 100 0 550 C 500 C S T R E S S
