Step 1 Get all the materials together and
find a place to work on the Growin Bag. This
place should be an open area where you can
garden freely.

Step 2 Fill the Growin Bag with soil up to 2
inches of the top of the bag and eliminate air
pockets.

Step 3 Fold the top of the bag over and
secure with tape to keep the soil from spilling
out.

Step 4 Put the strawberry plants through
the precut T-slits. Trim the roots to four or
five inches if needed.

Step 5- Water the plants thoroughly and
store extra plants in a refrigerator or cool
garage. After 1-2 weeks hang the Growin
Bag in sunlight.

Step 6 Unfold the top and add more soil
and 1 or 2 extra plants.

Step 7 Water every few days and use the
ice pick to punch extra holes in the bottom
and middle of pouch to provide better drain-
age.

Step 8 Add water soluble fertilizer to the
Growin Bag according to the label on the fer-
tilizer

Step 9 Remove all but 2 or 3 runners per
plant, which can be used to replace the origi-
nal plants after a year.

only one summer but it can be winterized by
the following tips, refer to the USDA Zone
Map to know which zone you are in.

The bag must be placed in a cold garage with
a temperature below 50 degrees F but above
freezing temperature (32 degrees F). Water
the plants lightly every 4 to 5 weeks to keep
the soil barely damp. Then feel free to move
the Growin Bag outdoors in early spring.

Zones 8-9

tected sport where it can receive natural rain-
fall. Water the plants lightly every 4 to 5
weeks to keep soil barely damp. Then feel
