July Sermon Series - During the month of July, Pastor Larry Johnson, our newly installed Teacher of the Word, will be leading us in a four part sermon series fromI Kings 12 & 13, entitled It Was the Worst of Times: The Life of Jeroboam. By studying the lives of King Jeroboamand the prophets of his day, we can learn to live in the present times of heresy, sin and seduction through Gods grace.
Kent County Jail Ministry Today Cedar Church will host our 5th Sunday chapel service at the Kent County Jail from12:45 PM - 2:15 PM. Please keep this ministry in your prayers.
Pastor Steve Away this Week Pastor Larry Johnson will fill the Cedar pulpit next Sunday while Pastor Steve is on vacation. If you need shepherding care, please feel free to contact a Cedar elder.
OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES
Help with a Short Term Mission Project right here in our own backyard. Meadow Springs OPC is looking for your help.
Friday, July 4th - Kentwood Parade - Approximately 5,000 adults and children watch this annual city parade. This year's theme is taken fromthe movie "How to Train your Dragon 2". A lifesize "Toothless dragon" and a wooden catapult is being constructed. The parade begins at 9:30amand the route is a 2 mile walk. Meadow Springs is looking for additional walkers to hand out candy or church tracts/invites.
Kentwood Carnival - Our church booth will be nestled among food venders and carnival rides. Our booth is open from6-8:30pm prior to the fireworks. Meadow Springs is looking for friendly faces to hand out bottled water, pocket New Testaments, and Church literature. Those who enjoy sharing the good news with strangers can assist our pastor. We are also taking photos and collecting emails of persons posing with our life-size Dragon "Toothless". This database will be used for future outreach events and sermon series.
Saturday July 5th- Dragon School (based on the movie) A VBS style outreach in a local park to reach the unchurched fromthe parade and carnival. A typical Saturday hosts hundreds of neighborhood children at the playground, skateboard park and splash pad. Our free event runs from10am-2pmat the Pinewood Park Pavillion. Meadow Springs is seeking individuals who enjoy working with children doing crafts, assisting in games or reading stories.

Worship Service Cedar Church strives to enjoy God through Spirit-empowered and Christ-centered worship. The Bible is sincerely loved, and we hope that you will find it opened up to you in a fresh and faithful manner each Sunday.
Nursery Childcare is available near the entrance of the gymnasium for children 0-3 years old, but children of all ages are always welcome in the worship service.
Coffee Break After the morning worship, please join us in the gymfor coffee and refreshments.
Kids Break After morning worship, all kids (Preschool thru 6th grade) are invited to the orchestra roomfor snacks and fun songs.
