Dr. John Whiteoak
Lecturer Organisational Change and Development,
University of Sunshine Coast
Dr. John Whiteoak has a PhD and a frst class honours
degree in organisational behaviour and is a recognised
expert on topics including leadership, strategy, change,
teamwork and culture.
John has been a university lecturer since the mid-1990s and
has published work on team effectiveness and motivation
with many high quality international management journals.
John is also an experienced consultant and trainer and
has worked across a wide range of corporate management
issues in many industries in Australia, New Zealand and the
United Arab Emirates including retail, mining, construction,
education, IT, government, public sector, and property.
Jim Appleby
General Manager, Downer Infrastructure NSW
Jim Appleby has over 28 years experience in the asphalt
industry.
Jim spent his frst 25 years in industry in the UK working
in senior operational positions for both Tarmac and
Holcim before relocating to Australia. He is currently
fulflling the role of General Manager of NSW Roads
Infrastructure for Downer.
Jim has a passion for the asphalt industry and its people
and absolutely believes we can have a workplace free
from harm, injury and incidents.

Troy Stahlhut
General Manager, Evolution Traffc Control
Troy Stahlhut has over 12 years experience in the traffc
control and security industry.
Troy has overall responsibility for all traffc operations at
Evolution with a focus on safety, compliance and customer
service.
Troy has extensive training and qualifcations in security,
risk management, safety, frst aid, workplace training and
traffc management.
Michael Caltabiano
CEO, Australian Asphalt Pavement Association
Michael has extensive industry experience in the public and
private sectors within the road design, construction and
maintenance spheres.
He has spent time as an elected representative at both Local
and State Government levels, and has run his own consulting
frm assisting some of Australias largest private frms deliver
infrastructure outcomes.
He has an Honours degree in Civil Engineering from James
Cook University, a Master of Philosophy degree from
Nottingham University and is a qualifed company director.

Delegate Package
Delegate package includes conference notepad, pen and give-away pack. Cost also includes catering for the
entire workshop. Delegates with specifc dietary or access requirements are asked to advise of these when
registering for the workshop.

Venue locations will be provided in the coming weeks. Any change to venue will be communicated to all
registered delegates via email and broadcast on the AAPA website.
Cancellation Policy
An administration fee of 10% will be deducted from any refund on registrations due to cancellation prior to
1 November 2014. No refunds will be given for cancellations after 2 November 2014, however a substitute
delegate is welcome to attend. All cancellations must be emailed to info@aapa.asn.au. AAPA reserves the right
to defer, amend or cancel the workshop.
Dietary & Access Requirements
Delegates with specifc dietary or access requirements are asked to advise of these when registering for the
workshop. Where possible, all necessary arrangements will be made to cater for delegate needs.
