Creating Input for StruMIS from Tekla

1. Open the Tekla Model for which you want to create the BIM Review file as an input to
StruMIS.
2. We would need the following files from the Tekla Mode:
a. NC Files
b. Drawing Files
c. BIM Review File

3. To create the NC files go to File > Export > Create NC Files...



4. Select DSTV and Plate NC options to be created. Based on your requirement select if you want
to create the NC files for All or selected items. The NC files will be created in two folders
NC & Platenc. Copy the NC files from the folder Platenc and paste them in the folder
NC.

5. To create the drawings go to Drawing & Reports > Drawing List and open the drawing list.



6. Once the drawings list is open select the drawings which you want to convert and then right
click > Print Drawings.

7. Select the format as DXF and click on Print. This would create the drawings in folder
PlotFile or the location provided by you.



8. To create the BIM Review file i.e. *.bswx file select the members which you want to be
exported and go to Detailing > Component > Component Catalog...(Create Component)

9. Click on BIM Review Export. This would open up a window BIMReviewExportPlugin.
Select the Output File path for the file location (as shown in point # 1 in the below image).
Select the DXF File path for the file location (as shown in point # 2 in the below image).
Select the NC File path for the file location (as shown in point # 3 in the below image).
Remove the Check from the Attach Gantt charts (as shown in point # 4 in the below image)
and click on OK. This will create the BIM Review file.
