    PROBLEMSTATEMENT:
    Design an automated robot programmed to complete the
    course in the shortest period of time while accurately tracking the
    courselinefromstarttofinish.
    ARENADESCRIPTION:

    Thebaseofthearenaismadeupofwhitecolouredflexsheet
    onwhichablackcolouredlineisprinted.

    Thethicknessofthelinemayvaryfrom3cmto5cm.

    Thecourselineaswellastracksurfacecoloursmayvaryin
    smallproportions.

    Thearenaforthefinalroundwillbegivenonthedayofthe
    event.

    Thearenadesignforthequalifyingroundisasfollows:

    ROBOTSPECIFICATIONS:

    Therobotshouldhavethemaximumdimensionsof
    30cmx30cmx30cm.

    Therobotshouldbeautonomous.

    Therobotshouldnotexceedweightof3kgsincludingbattery.

    Therobotshouldhaveonboardpowersupplyandvoltage
    betweenanytwopointsontherobotshouldnotexceed14V.

    Therobotmustdealwiththeroomconditions,therewillbeno
    changeintheconditionsoftheroom.

    Note:Atoleranceof5%isallowedinthedimensionsandpower
    specifications.

    QUALIFYINGROUND:

    Theautonomousrobotwillhavetosuccessfullytraveltheblack
    lineasshownintheimagetoqualifyforthenextround.

    Thearenaforthenextroundswillbedisclosedonthedayof
    theeventitself.

    RULESANDREGULATIONS:

    Amaximumof4participantsareallowedinateam.

    TheRobotshouldbecompletelyautonomous.Itshouldnot
    receiveanysortofexternalassistance.Noreadymadekitswill
    beallowed.

    Robotsmustnotdamagethearena.Suchrobotswillbe
    disqualified.

    Lightinglevelsareunpredictableandmayincludecamera
    flashes.Nochangeswillbemadeindividuallytoany
    participant.

    Theremaybealternativeeliminationmethodsinsomecasesif
    necessarywhichwillbepostedbeforetherace.

    Alltherobotswillberacingonthesametrackforagiven
    round.

    Notrialrunswillbeallowedonthearenaoftheevent.

    Unfairgamemayleadtodisqualificationoftheteamanditis
    tobedecidedbythecoordinator.

    NomoreAC/DCpowersupplywillbeprovidedatthesiteof
    play.
