Dear Advocates for Peace:
Kalinaw!
With the recent signing of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) be- tween the Philippine Government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and in the advent of the drafting of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL)that will attempt to enflesh the principles behind the CAB, the House of Representatives Committee on National Cultural Communities and Indigenous Peoples, through the leadership of North Cotabato 2 nd District Representative Hon. Nancy Catamco, will hold a Public Consultation involving a multistakeholder audience in Davao City on June 26, 2014.
Through multi-stakeholdership consultation, key leaders coming from the business, interfaith, academe, indigenous peoples, moro groupds, civil society, transitional justice, women, and other sectors are expected to convene to share sectoral perspectives on the issues and concerns sur- rounding the CAB and/or the BBL that will aid the legislators in the HOR in further enhancing the leg- islation for peace.
We hope to spark conversations which may help in the expansion of constituency in support of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro to sustain the milestones of the GPH-MILF peace table for the anticipated Bangsamoro Basic Law. Around eight (8) legislators from the House of Representatives confirmed their attendance to the consultation.
Unto this end, we would like to invite you to the Congressional Consultation: Multistakehold- ers Perspectives on the Bangsamoro on June 26, 2014 at 1:00pm-5:00pm, Finster Auditorium, 7 th Floor of Finster Hall, Ateneo de Davao University.
