The Ward family - Serving with Word of Life Canada
June 2014
Highlights of the Month: Jon returned safely from NY and is working with 3 new missionaries for the Bible Institute staff as they raise their support. Please pray for them as they seek to have enough support raised to join us in September! We will introduce them in next month's update. A huge blessing has been that Jaydon's allergy test came back negative to bee, wasp and hornet venoms! He no longer needs an epi-pen to follow him wherever he goes! We also helped with our home church, Olivet Baptist, VBS. Jon taught the lesson Monday and Friday and Melissa was a crew leader all week. It was a great week and many kids heard and experienced Jesus' love! The boys are now finished school (and are very excited to move up to grades 3 and 4 in the Fall) and we are looking forward to some support raising and vacation next week. We will be in PA July 9-24. Jon is speaking at a new church in the Hazleton, PA area and meeting with a pastor from Harrisburg. Please pray: -For Jon sharing the gospel tonight 7-8pm Teen Camp #1 -For safety as we travel -For us to be a blessing as we share our ministry and God's Word -For complete refreshment of bodies and minds to return to serve God here at WOLBI in Owen Sound.
Why We Do What We Do... Recently Jon received the following anonymous letter. May it bless your heart as much as it has blessed ours because you are a valuable part of our ministry through your prayers and support as we all partner together for God's glory!
Dear Mr. Ward, ...I just wanted to write and thank you for your ministry and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Many years ago you came to my Church and spoke...The message you spoke changed my life as I learned so much about God's love and forgiveness. ...back-story: I grew up i a very dysfunctional family of divorce, anger, and much confusion. Growing up I was abused...from the ages of 5-14. My parents would not believe me...This grew silence, hatred, loneliness, and depression. The Friday before you came I had written two letters...and had my suicide planned out for the following day. That night my friend begged me to come to...where the Word of Life group was going to be... I thank God for bringing my friend into my life and your [ministry] team at that exact time! It was there I learned about how God does not hold me accountable to things that were done to me and how His love and forgiveness is greater than anything I'd ever known! What a weight lifted! That weekend I re-dedicated my life to Christ and the following year I went to the Bible Institute and was able to talk with someone about my past and eventually confront...my abusers about what happened and how they were forgiven! I just wanted to thank you for your ministry and allowing God to use you to change lives! Praying for you and your family and the ministry you continue to have!
Thank You!

We also want to thank the anonymous person (if you are reading this) for being such an encouragement in sending this to us (I hope it has been OK for us to share this with all those who support our ministry)! You are a blessing and we are praying that you continue to shine for Jesus!
May the God of all comfort use you to comfort others as you have been comforted! 2 Cor. 1:3-7 ______________________________________________________________ Do you know any youth or youth leaders in Southern Ontario?
