or costs that contractors incur in the completion of a project. This may be the cost of a site office, hoarding, or heating the site office etc. Prepared by: Alceso, Mark Gil S.
Preliminaries in Construction Mobilization Mobilization consists of preparatory work and operations necessary for the movement of personnel, equipment, supplies, and incidentals to the project site; for the establishment of offices, buildings, and other facilities necessary for the work; for premiums on bond and insurance for the work; and for other operations performed or costs incurred before the beginning of work. Construction mobilization, in a broad sense, refers to those processes and tasks that are undertaken once the contract has been awarded, before the actual ground work begins.
The construction tools, equipment, materials and supplies needed in site mobilization necessary to facilitate the timely execution of work depends upon the type of the project to be construct.
Temporary FACILITIES Provide temporary utilities and construction facilities in order to execute work expeditiously. Remove from site all such work after use. Here are some examples of temporary facilities use in constructions: 1. Sanitary Facilities- for work force in accordance with governing regulations. 2. Temporary Power and Light- to be used for lighting and operating power tools during construction work. 3. Construction Parking- provide parking on site to the extent that it does not disrupt performance of work. 4. Site Offices- for the own use of engineer or engineers representative. 5. Equipment Tools and Material Storage- provide a clean and in order condition a lockable weatherproof shield for storage of tools, equipment and materials. 6. Temporary Traffic Control- barricade, haul roads, fencing. 7. Temporary Signage- bulletin board, project and safety signs.

LINE AND GRADE In support of construction activities, the surveyor obtains the reconnaissance and preliminary data which are necessary at the planning stage. Typical duties of the construction surveyor include Determining distances, areas, and angles. Establishing reference points for both horizontal and vertical control. Setting stakes or otherwise marking lines, grades, and principal points. Determining profiles of the ground along given lines (centerlines and/or cross- section lines) to provide data for cuts, fills, and earthwork volumes. Preparing large-scale topographic maps using plane table or transit-stadia data to Laying out structures, culverts, and bridge lines. Surveyors use such equipment and tools for surveying like theodolite, markings, tape measure, plumb bob etc.
Permits and license A construction permit or building permit is a permit required in most jurisdictions for new construction, or adding onto pre- existing structures, and in some cases for major renovations. Permits are issued to property owners, contractors, leasure, architects or engineers. Failure to obtain a permit can result in significant fines and penalties, and even demolition of unauthorized construction if it cannot be made to meet code. Here are some procedures and cost in dealing building permits and license.
