Quote of the Month
I love comedy, enjoy watching
standup comedians, but I rarely
remember or tell jokes. As I devel-
oped as a speaker, I realized that I
didnt have to make the audience
laugh; all I had to do was reveal
the humor in a particular situa-
tion. You dont have to go for a
laugh all the time; but you should
try to elicit at least a smile. Car-

@dekebridges:
How can you be
heard if you do not
speak up. You are
your story. Tell it.
Represent yourself.
Say something, the
world is listening.

@TheDailyLove:
The story you tell
yourself becomes the
story of your life. Tell
an empowering
story.

@IntegressS:
The more I increase
my ability to com-
municate, the more I
will be able to accom-
plish in fewer words.
Word choice and vo-
cabulary matter.

Why pay thousands of dollars for
a seminar or class when you can
join a Toastmasters club for a
fraction of the cost and have fun
in the process?

one of our own, Sharon Vickers, is a
Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). This

at the District 14 Spring Conference.

At our June 18th club meeting; Sharon
Vickers, DTM; was the recipient of a
toast by Toastmaster Linda Zechmann.
Linda used a speech project from the Spe-
cial Occasions manual to honor Sharons
recent completion of requirements for
achieving the Distinguished Toastmaster
Award. Linda surprised Sharon by invit-
ing her close friends Cheryl Williams, Sue
Welch, and Debbie Coleman to the meet-
ing. Sharons sister, Charlotte Capps, was
also present for the toast.
