ABSTRACT ECO-FRIENDLY FAN BY USING THE PRINCIPLE OF MAGLEV/MAGNETIC FORCE MARA Junior Science College Mukah Sarawak
A regular electric ceiling fan will face some problems such as electric overload which may cause malfunction and can cause the movement speed of the fan become slower as it has been used for a long time. To overcome this problems, other alternative should be used which is the magnetic ceiling fan. This research is fully studied from the internet. This ceiling fan uses the maglev principle where it rotates by using the force of magnet (push and pull). Based on the data that we had collected, the maglev principle will be able to rotate the ceiling fan. Briefly, the maglev principle is commonly used in the train transportation industry to move the train (maglev train). This concept we practice it into a ceiling fan (maglev ceiling fan). As a conclusion, magnetic/maglev ceiling fan will be able to be in vented in the real life as the principle that used by this device had already been showed by the maglev train. From the conclusion, we can conclude that a regular ceiling fan can be rotated / moved by the principle of maglev. 6
Electric fan is a device has been commonly used by people nowadays. It needs electrical energy to rotate or move and a regular ceiling fan usually uses 10-100 watts. This amount of electric energy consumed will cause bad effects to our life and beloved earth. A regular ceiling fan will face some problems such as electric overload which may cause malfunction or causing the movement speed of the fan to become slower. This shows that the use of a regular ceiling fan is not efficient enough as it causes many disadvantages. To overcome this problem, other alternatives should be used which is the magnetic ceiling fan. This type of fan uses the principle of magnet which is maglev and propulsion. Maglev or magnetic levitation is a system which the vehicle runs from the guide way by using electromagnetic forces from the superconducting magnets on board the vehicle and coils on the ground. The following are the principles that are commonly used in maglev: 1) Principle of magnetic levitation 2) Principle of lateral guidance 3) Principle of propulsion 8
1.2 STATEMENT OF ISSUES
A regular ceiling fan usually consumes 10-100 watts. The amount of electric energy consumed by a regular ceiling fan will cause bad effects to our life and beloved earth. A regular ceiling fan will face some problems such as electric overload which may cause malfunction or causing the movement speed of the fan to become slower. Besides, the regular ceiling fan will not be functional if there is no electricity power as it needs electric power to function. This shows that the use of a regular ceiling fan is not efficient enough as it causes many disadvantages. By using the Maglev force, it can overcome all the problems. 9

.OBJECTIVE
There are certain objectives that we are trying to reach with this product. The objectives that we are trying to reach are divided into two which is the main objective and the specific objectives. First of all, the main objective of the product is to discover a new method to rotate a regular ceiling fan by using magnetic force without using any electric power. The specific objectives of our research are to show that magnetic ceiling fan can be invented and can be used officially worldwide. Furthermore, our objective is also to invent and eco-friendly fan. 11

2.1 INTRODUCTION
Electric fan is a device has been commonly used by people nowadays. It needs electrical energy to rotate or move and a regular ceiling fan usually uses 10-100 watts power of electric. This amount of electric energy consumed will cause bad effects to our life and beloved earth especially if it has been used worldwide. This shows that regular ceiling fans need a big amount of electric power to be functioned or to be used. A regular ceiling fan also will face some problems such as electric overload which may cause malfunction or causing the movement speed of the fan to become slower. Besides, the regular ceiling fan will not be functional if there is no electricity power as it needs electric power to function. This shows that the use of a regular ceiling fan that using electric power is not efficient enough as it causes many disadvantages to us and Mother Nature. To overcome these problems, other alternatives should be used which is the Maglev/magnetic ceiling fan. This type of fan uses the principle of magnet which is maglev and propulsion. Maglev or magnetic levitation is a system which the vehicle runs from the guide way by using electromagnetic forces from the superconducting magnets on board the vehicle and coils on the ground. The following are the principles that are commonly used in maglev: 1) Principle of magnetic levitation 2) Principle of lateral guidance 3) Principle of propulsion Thus, by using these principles on the ceiling fan, a Maglev ceiling fan can be invented. 13
2.2 STUDIES DEFINITION
2.2.1 Inventing an Eco-friendly product
The development of the product will be able minimize the usage of electrical energy.
2.2.2 Discovering a new method
Through the ability of the Maglev fan, it will not only be able to minimize the usage of electrical energy used but else enables the discovering of a new method to rotate / move a regular ceiling fan. 14

4.1 Market Study 17
4.1 MARKET STUDY
The Eco-friendly Fan by Using the Principle of Maglev is on their way to be popular especially among family, school and companies. It is because a regular family usually uses a regular ceiling fan in their home. Furthermore, schools also usually uses regular ceiling fan in especially in the classrooms. Moreover, big companies also uses regular ceiling fans especially in the offices. This is why we are targeting our product to be sold to family, school and companies. 18

ECO-FRIENDLY FAN BY USING THE PRINCIPLE OF MAGLEV/MAGNETIC FORCE 22 5.4 Project Development First of all, we design a basic prototype using a CD, magnets and a CD stand to prove that the Maglev Principle is real and can be used in this project. Then, we design a real design of Maglev ceiling Fan using the Paint software. For this invention (Maglev Ceiling Fan), it requires another principle which is the principle of propulsion of magnet. Last but not least, we will create a real prototype of a Basic Maglev Principle Ceiling Fan and we assumed the prototype as the Maglev Ceiling Fan. 23
CHAPTER 6: TESTING AND EVALUATING THE PROJECT 6.1 Testing and evaluating the products 6.2 Prototype 24 6.1 Testing and Evaluating the Product After testing our product several times, we can evaluate that is a success in order of functioning. Although the product had failed to achieve perfection, we are able to achieve success in order to make the product functional. We are also assured that our product can be used and practiced into a regular ceiling fan.
The conclusion that we can make from our product is we are really hoping that this innovation product will solve any problem that electronic ceiling fans are facing which is excessive electrical energy usage and we are also hoping that this product will minimize the pollution that is caused by excessive electric usage. We are also hoping that our product can reduce the usage of electric ceiling fan which can cause pollution to our beloved Earth.
