Emerging during the classical period, Buddhism and Christianity are two incredibly

different religions. Each has their own separate belief systems and rituals.
Although they do share some minor similarities like in their teachings and
afterlife.
The religion Buddhism teaches its followers that in this life they are only
temporary vessels of body, emotions, thoughts, tendencies, and knowledge.
Buddhists believe that there is no sense of self or soul when in this world. A
fundamental concept of Buddhism is the notion that the goal of one’s life is to
break the cycles of death and birth. Reincarnation exists because of the
individual’s craving and desires to live in this world. The ultimate goal of a
Buddhists is to achieve freedom from the cycle of reincarnation and attain
nirvana. The enlightened state in which the person is free from greed, hate, and
ignorance. As a result they try to reach nirvana by showing love for others, being
compassionate and sympathetic of other people, and showing patience in everything.
A person may reach nirvana by being reincarnated to live again on earth and to be
free of sins. In the other hand the religion of Christianity teaches its followers
to believe that God (Jesus Christ) is the only one that ever lived on earth that
can be called perfect from all worldly sins. Consequently all Christians should
not think of themselves as better as or greater than anyone else because the bible
teaches that everyone is equal. The important thing to understand was that Jesus
was God. He was here on earth to teach of God’s plan for all of humanity and to
save the people of the world from their transgressions. In Christianity, God is
almighty and rules over all of heaven and earth. He is the one that created the
earth and one day will cast judgment over the entire earth. Christians understand
that through Jesus Christ, people can be saved from this judgment. By believing
that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, the Spirit of God is exists in all
believers, and that God is almighty in power. A person can be saved from this
judgment.
The Christians monotheism is a unique kind of monotheism. It holds that God
is One, but that three distinct "persons" constitute the one God: the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit. This unique threefold God of Christian belief is
referred to as the Trinity. In contrast Buddhists are pantheistic which means when
someone believes that God and the universe are the same. As a result the
Christians prayed in Church to represent their loyalty to God, while Buddhists
meditate in shrines to follow their respect for their beliefs. However, Christians
prayed in church because they wanted to feel a sense of relief of all their sins
in contrast to the Buddhists which hey didn’t.
The key points of Buddhism and Christianity is its development in the
beliefs. Both religions were developed by two distinct people but the
significance is that both have many similarities and minor differences.
