Installation Guide
IMPORTANT:
These instructions should be read and
completely understood before any work
commences.
Remove outer packaging carefully and DO NOT run
a knife down the face of the product as damage
could occur.
Check door is correct specification, hinged on the
correct side, opens the correct way and all ancillaries
are present. Any defects or missing parts must be
reported immediately.
Before removing existing door check that the new
door will fit in the existing opening and that a
suitable lintel is fitted above the doorway.
- Electric drill with
hammer action
- Stanley Knife
- Crowbar
- Chisel
- Tape Measure
- Screwdrivers
- Observe health & safety recommendations when lifting and
positioning all heavy objects.
- Care should be taken when handling the door, help should be
sought due to the weight.
- Avoid sharp edges.
- Follow the manufactures instructions when using steps, and other
tools.
- Keep electrical leads and cables away from sharp and abrasive
surfaces and protect against tension and moisture. An RCD breaker
should be used as per the manufactures instructions to protect
from electric shock.
- Keep children and pets away from building operations.
- All waste products should be disposed of correctly and safely.

SAFETY:
Re-measure the existing door and frame Carefully remove all packaging from
your new door, and dispose of it
responsibly
Measure the new door to ensure it will
fit before removing the old door

- Hammer
- Silicone sealant gun
- Saw
- Rubber Mallet
- Long & Short Spirit Level
- 3mm allen key
- 4mm allen key
RECOMMENDED TOOLS:
Our Composite Doors supplied with butt hinges are fixed to the
door frame with two screws per hinge for transportation purposes
only. There are two more screws per hinge supplied with the door.
To make the installation easier we recommend the door leaf is
removed from its frame before fixing. Ensure the door frame is
square within the aperture before securing to the brickwork. Then
re-attach the door leaf to the fixed frame whilst making sure you
have an equal gap around the door leaf. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT
ALL SUPPLIED HINGE SCREWS ARE USED
Run a Stanley knife along the old door
frame on all sides internally and
externally
Insert the crowbar into the gap to help
pry the frame away from the wall
Your cill is provided oversize to create
a cill horn if required
Place the cill on a bed of silicone
Remove the old door slab from the
old door frame
Carefully remove the whole of the old
door frame
Measure the distance from the inside
of the plasterwork to the outside of
the brick
Ensure the cill is completely LEVEL
Saw half way down the door frame,
and lift away with a crowbar, ensuring
you place a packer between the
brickwork and crowbar to protect brick
Measure the distance between the
door opening
Carefully transpose the measurements
onto the cill and remove the unwanted
cill area
Place the spindle and the white plastic
spring mechanism on to the door

Locate the handle to the outside of
the new door
Remove the protective tape from the
inside of the new door
Open the door in the frame and
ensure the door is safely supported in
the open position
Measure a maximum of 100mm down
from the inside of the outer frame and
mark where the 1st whole brick is to
gain a good fixing. DONT drill through
mortar or half brick
Place the white plastic spring
mechanism on the spindle in the door,
before placing on the inside handle
Carefully offer up the door in the door
opening
Ensure the door is level on the vertical
plane on the hinge side and adjust
accordingly (repeat this on the lock side)
Place the inside handle over the spindle
and plastic spring and fasten with the
two screws provided
Wedge in packers between the door
frame and brickwork until the door is
stable
Ensure the door is level on the inside
plane on the hinge side and adjust
accordingly (repeat this on the lock side)
Drill through the frame and the wall
on these marks with 6.5mm drill bit
(included in optional fixing pack)

Screw the frame to the wall with
suitable frame fixing screws.
(Do NOT over tighten screw)
Break off the packers using a hammer
and chisel
Tighten the cylinder screw located on
the door edge
The door hinge can be adjusted with
a 4mm allen key if necessary
Pull the door almost closed to the
outer frame and ensure the gap is
even all the way down the door, so
that it will close nicely into the keeps.
Remove all the remaining protective
tape
Test the handle and locking
mechanism to ensure all operations
are working correctly
Seal the outside using an LMA silicone
sealant along all edges
The keep in the door frame can be
adjusted with a 3mm allen key if
necessary
Where paint finishes are to be used on
on the inside, use an acrylic based
sealant to seal the whole of the inside
of the door

If you purchased numerals, offer up
the numerals in a suitable position,
using a sticky backing (not provided)
Once you are happy with the position
of the numerals, drill though the pre
drilled holes in the number to go
through the outer GRP skin only
Screw the numerals to the door with
the screws provided
