doubleclickontheDVDROMicon;
doubleclickonthesetup.msiicon.

FollowtheinstallationwizardtoinstallSuperMindsLevel1onthecomputer.

DuringtheinstallationprocessyouwillbeaskedtoaccepttheTermsandconditionsbeforeyoucan
continue.

IfyouwouldliketoinstallSuperMindsLevel1toaparticularlocation,youcandosobyclickingthe
Browsebuttonandchoosingthepreferredfolder.OtherwiseclickonNexttoinstallittothedefault
location.

FollowtheinstallationwizardtoinstallSuperMindsLevel1onthecomputer.

DuringtheinstallationprocessyouwillbeaskedtoaccepttheTermsandconditionsbeforeyoucan

Aftertheinstallationtothedefaultlocationiscomplete,gotoApplicationsandfindCambridge,
SuperMinds,andthentheLevel1folder.DoubleclickontheSuperMindsLevel1icontostartthe
application.

Uninstallationinstructions

SuperMindsLevel1uninstallerremovesallthesoftwarerelateddatafromyourcomputerexceptfor
theuserscores.Ifyouwouldliketoremovetheuserscoresaswell,followthestepsbelowBEFORE
youuninstalltheprogram:
closeSuperMindsLevel1ifitisopen;
openthefolderintowhichyouinstalledtheprogram.Ifyouhavenotchangedthedefault
installationfolder,itshouldbeC:\ProgramFiles\Cambridge\SuperMinds\Level1;
opentheadminfolder;
doubleclickontheClearAllScores.exeicon.

TouninstallSuperMindsLevel1:

open the Start menu and click on Control Panel;

double-click on Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Programs and then Programs
and Features (Windows Vista and 7);
select Super Minds Level 1 in the product list;
click on the Remove button (Windows XP) or Uninstall button (Windows Vista and 7).

FollowtheuninstallationwizardtoremoveSuperMindsLevel1fromthecomputer.

SuperMindsLevel1savesuserscoresoutsideoftheinstallationfolder,soifyouwouldliketoremove
theuserscoresaswell,followthestepsbelowBEFOREyoumoveSuperMindsLevel1totheTrash:
closeSuperMindsLevel1ifitisopen;
gotoApplications;
openCambridge,SuperMinds,Level1andthenadminfolders;
doubleclickontheClearAllScoresicon.

ToremoveSuperMindsLevel1:
gotoApplications;
opentheCambridgeandthentheSuperMindsfolder;
dragtheLevel1foldertotheTrash.

Access to microphone
InordertousetheaudiorecordingfeatureinSong,thesoftwareneedstobeallowedtouseyour
microphone.WhenSongisfirstaccessedyouwillbepresentedwiththefollowingpopup:

ClickAllowtoenableaudiorecordings.

IfyouclickDenyandwouldliketochangethesettings:
eitherrestartthesoftwareandselectAllownexttimethepopupshows,
orrightclickonthescreenandselectSettingsfrommenu:

OpenPrivacyandselectAllow:

Note:IfyoutickRememberaswell,thesoftwarewillnotrequestpermissiontousethemicrophone
eachtimeyouopenit.

Microphone indicator
ToensurethatthemicrophoneisworkingcorrectlyinSong,gotoKaraokeandcheckthemicrophone
indicatornexttoRecord.

Ifyouseeabluebarmovewhenyouspeakintothemicrophone,themicrophoneis
setupcorrectlyandcanbeusedtorecordtheaudio.

Iftheindicatorisemptyorthebluebardoesnotmovewhenyouspeakintothe
microphone,youmaynotbeabletorecordtheaudio.Pleaseseebelowforalistof

Possible problems with microphone

IfyouarehavingproblemswithaudiorecordinginSong,pleasecheckforthefollowingproblems.
Note:Appropriatesolutionsdependonyouroperatingsystem,soyoumayneedtorefertoyour
computersmanualtoperformsomeofthesechecks:

Themicrophonemaynotbepluggedintothecomputercorrectly.
Checktheconnectiontoensurethattheplugispushedinfully.

Themicrophonemaybepluggedintotheincorrectport.
Ifyouareusingamicrophonewithananalogconnector,checkthatitispluggedintothe
microphoneport(sometimesindicatedwithasmallmicrophoneiconorpinkincolour).

Therecordingvolumecanbesettoveryloworbemuted.
Checktherecordingvolumecontrolsettingsonyourcomputer.Ifthemicrophonehasa
mutebutton,makesureitisnotactivated.

Themicrophonemaynotbeselectedasthecurrentinputdevice.
Thismayhappenifyourcomputerhasabuiltinmicrophone(laptops,notebooks)andyou
havepluggedinanexternalmicrophoneoraheadsetwithamicrophone.
Makesurethatthemicrophoneisselectedasthecurrentaudioinputorrecordingdeviceon
yourcomputer.

Theremaybeotherprogramsusingthemicrophone(webcameraviewers,internetphone,
ormusicapplications).
Makesuretheyareallshutdown.

Thecomputermaynothavethecorrectdriversinstalledtousethemicrophone.
Mostmicrophonesareplugandplaydevices.However,itmaybenecessarytoinstalldriver
softwaretoenablethemicrophoneonyourcomputer.Refertoyourmicrophonesuser
guidefordetails.

Themicrophoneorheadsetmaybedamaged.
Ifpossible,tryreplacingitwithadifferentmicrophoneorheadset.

Clearinguserscores

SuperMindsLevel1displaysinformationabouttheusersprogressintheScoresscreen.Ifyouwould
liketoremoveallscoreinformationfromthisscreenyoucandosoatanytimebyusingthe
ClearAllScoresapplicationlocatedintheSuperMindsLevel1installationfolder.
