BACCALAUREATE MASS

27 MARCH 2014, 7:15 AM

St. James the Apostle Church
Santiago St. Poblacion, Cateel

Officiating Prelate

Most Reverend Patricio H. Alo, D.D.
Bishop of the Diocese of Mati
Commentator: Good Morning my dear brothers and sisters in Christ.

Our dear graduates and our beloved children, today is an
important event that comes into your lives as graduating students in
elementary and high school. We, your teachers and your parents are
happy to witness our success and we pray as you begin a new adventure
and journey of your lives.

We offer thanks to God because He has always been with us in our
quest for success in life. We are also thankful to God for loving and
forgiving us at times when we failed to give our best by not loving our
neighbors.

It is proper then in this Eucharistic celebration that we express
our gratitude to God for the gift of salvation, the gift of wisdom and
understanding. We implore and pray to our Heavenly Father to bestow on
us more blessings for the coming years. We also offer prayers to those
who became instruments of the success that we gained today especially
our parents, the faculty members, staff and administrator. We thank God
for the Maryknoll Fathers who founded this Catholic institution and
instilled in us the ideals of quality Christian Education.

Commentator: Let us all stand as we witness the processional entrance
of the acolytes, Graduates with their parents, Faculty and
Staff, concelebrants and the celebrants.

(Instrumental music is played while having the processional; when
everybody is in their proper places, the commentator continues to say..)

Commentator: Together let us praise God as we sing the entrance song.

Presider: Father, All-Powerful and ever-living God, we do well
always and everywhere to give you thanks through Jesus
Christ our Lord.

He came to save mankind by becoming a man himself. The
Virgin Mary, receiving the angels message in faith,
conceived by the power of the spirit and bore your son in
purest love.

In Christ, the eternal truth, your promise to Israel came true.
In Christ, the hope of all peoples, mans hope was realized
beyond all expectation.

Through Christ the angels of heaven offer their prayer of
adoration as they rejoice in your presence forever. May our
voices be one with their in their triumphant hymn of praise.

Sanctus (sung)

Presider : You are indeed Holy O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending
down your spirit upon them life dewfall, so that they
may become for us the body and Blood of our Lord,
Jesus Christ.

At the time, He was betrayed and entered willingly
into His Passion, He took bread and, giving thanks,
broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying: Take
this, all of you, and eat it, for this is my body which
will be given up for you.

In similar way, when supper was ended, He took the
chalice and, once more giving thanks, He gave it to
His disciples, saying:

Take this, all of you, and drink from it, this is the
chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal
covenant, which will be poured out for you and for
many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory
of me.

Presider : The mystery of faith.

Commentator : Please rise.

Acclamation

Presider : Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of His
Death and Resurrection, we offer You, Lord, the
Bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving
thanks that You have held us worthy to be in
Your presence and minister to You.

Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and
Blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the
Holy Spirit.

Concelebrant 1: Remember, Lord, Your Church, spread throughout
the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity,
together with Francis our Pope, Patricio, our
bishop, and all the clergy.

Concelebrant 2: Remember also our brothers and sisters who have
fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all
who have died in your mercy: welcome them into the
light of Your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, that
with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with the
blessed Apostles, and all the Saints who have pleased
You throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs
to eternal life, and may praise and glorify You
through Your Son, Jesus Christ.
