Intern who will provide support to the Elliot Lake Centre for Development and the
Economic Development Advisory Committee to aid with the implementation of the
Economic Diversification Strategy, following the prioritized goals

Goal # 2: Building a Network of Networks
The concept behind creating a network of networks is that social networks including
community champions, civic leaders and new partners come together to strengthen
and leave it in a stronger position.

Goal # 6: Make Aging in Place a reality,(NOT JUST A PROMISE)
Ontarios population is aging. An important cornerstone in the Ministry of Health and
Long term care revolves around the notion that every Ontarian can age in place. As
such, it will be important to ensure real tangible resources and networks are available to
assist people to remain in their homes.

Many opportunities around health care are premised on creating partnerships with
research institutions, training centres and working in collaboration with pharmaceutical
companies to further develop the nuts and bolts of resilient independent living
community. In very real terms, Elliot Lake could become a living laboratory for
community based programming, services and seniors focussed care.

The intern will help identify vital information for project development as well as identify
and liaise meetings with key stakeholders and coordinate community consultations
when needed. As the Strategic Plan is a community based document, the intern will
work closely with local service agencies and community groups in regards to community
