FLOOD PREVENTION DOORS
Special customized doors on several configuration shapes providing flexible solutions for the convenience of loading / unloading
vehicles, on Ro/Ro and Ferry ships.
These doors divide the car deck into watertight compartments with longitudinal or transverse barriers. They prevent the free water
from spreading over the whole car deck, and thus decrease the total free surface effect and its potential to capsize the vessel.
The survivability of Ro/Ro and Ferry vessels is substantially improved.
These type of doors are designed to bring the vessels into line with the Stockholm Agreement for vehicle / passenger
ferries, particularly for existing ships and new vessels too.
Doors can be designed to any water pressure and can meet
any specific requirements from the classification societies.
We can provide multifold configurations structures to solve
questions such as: hoistable car platforms above doors,
inboard ramps underneath doors location, etc.
It is quite important that we can arrange all operational
systems placed onto the door sections, minimizing the
installation cost.
All doors and electro-hydraulic equipment, are built, tested
and adjusted in our factory plant.
Innovated solutions with very low sills up to 30mm.
Following are some alternative types of these doors,
depending on an operators needs.

Single Hinged Manual Operated & securing by swing nuts & turnbackles
Electro-hydraulic Operated
Hinged Single Panel: 180

rotating
(Pivoting Type)
The door consists of one panel,
located at the shipside, swinging
90
o
fore or aft to its open position
parallel to the shipside.
Door-set is fully hydraulic operated,
lifting, swinging and securing in close
position by stoppers and locking
devices, through PLC controls.
There is a rubber seal along the
door-leaf and frame that provides the
water tightness of structure.
An access hinged door is fitted into
panel as an integrated part of the door
system.
Electro-hydraulic Operated of 4,10m Height

Two (2) individual panels stowing at the side shell port & stbd or center casing, swinging 90
o
fore or aft to its open position.
The door-set is fully hydraulic operated, lifting, swinging and securing in close position by stoppers and locking devices in a
multi-configuration, actuated by PLC commands.
There is a rubber seal perimetrically door-leaves and frames /deck coamings to achieve water tightness.
An access hinged door is fitted into panel.

AFT & FORE Breadth sealed 8,5m
Side-Hinged & Sliding Door: 180
o
swinging.
The door-set consists of one pivoted leaf and one sliding leaf, stowing at the ship side of the vessel and its closing
position is across the vehicle space.
During the pivot leaf swinging 90
o
fore or aft, the sliding leaf is accommodated to it and when door-set reaches vertical the centre
line the sliding leaf starts moving to close position, forming a transverse barrier across the garage.
This compact design provides a unique solution to vessels as they can load and unload
vehicles without maneuvering confusion and also saving valuable time.

During Rotation
It is quite remarkable that we can
easily divide the vehicle lanes for
pivoted or sliding sections,
depending of vessels
convenience.
It is totally hydraulic operated,
lifting, swinging, sliding and
securing in a multi-way.
Adjustments and arrangements
can be done through PLC
controls.
A packing seal secure water
tightness between door-leaves
and frames /deck coamings.
