PARABLE OF THE TALENTS

Matthew 25:14-30 “For [the kingdom of heaven is] as a man travelling into a far country, [who] called his
own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to
another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that
had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made [them] other five talents. And
likewise he that [had received] two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and
digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and
reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying,
Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord
said unto him, Well done, [thou] good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will
make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents
came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside
them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few
things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Then he which had
received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou
hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in
the earth: lo, [there] thou hast [that is] thine. His lord answered and said unto him, [Thou] wicked and
slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou
oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and [then] at my coming I should have
received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give [it] unto him which hath ten
talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath
not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Talents—weight of money (large weight)—not ability to do something. Parable—Elohiym giving His

goods to his servants to promise his kingdom

Parable about El giving of his goods, riches, to his servants, in order to increase his kingdom. (not talent to
play…)

Trading with the money (can’t trade ability). Using what El has given us to promote his kingdom
(righteousness/peace/joy in Holy Ghost). Using faith, understanding of Word, spiritual gifts—share with
others who can use it. If don’t use—cast out.

[ Luke 17:7-10 “But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by,
when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat? And will not rather say unto him, Make ready
wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou
shalt eat and drink? Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I
trow not. So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are
unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.”

Done all commanded – unprofitable servants – in the sense that it’s El doing the work. “Gather where
haven’t strawed/laid down” – He gives increase. We go out to be used by Him.
Unprofitable servant in sense of Matthew 25—not even trying to be used—hiding, afraid. ]

2 Peter 1:3 “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and
godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:”

Many things El has given us. Use.

Matthew 25:25 “And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, [there] thou hast [that is]
thine.”
Servants used gifts, gifts grew. Slothful servant hid money, being fearful & doubting

El reaps where hasn’t sown

We are sowing, El gives increase

Go out, try to be used, see if He gives increase

Give gifts to some who can use/not hide

El’s wisdom – can give, can take away

Matthew 25:30 “And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.”

End of wicked and slothful servant—cast out. We need to use gifts to profit kingdom. Put ourselves in
place where he can use us, not going and hiding under bushel

We are unprofitable in a sense, can’t do anything without El

Psalm 68:11 “The Lord gave the word: great [was] the company of those that published [it].”
This is our purpose

1 Corinthians 12:1-12 “Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know
that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to
understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say
that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And
there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is
the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit
withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same
Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the
working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of
tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit,
dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the
members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ.”

Different gifts, one purpose—promoting his kingdom. Righteousness, peace, joy in Holy Ghost

v 27,28 “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church,
first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps,
governments, diversities of tongues.”

Given different gifts

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of
lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

Good and perfect gifts are from Elohiym

James 3:15 “This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, devilish.”

Some gifts are devilish, not of Elohiym at all. Some gifts from earth, earthly

2 Timothy 2:19 “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth
them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
Something of El has his seal<Faith, righteousness. Can help us to see what is of El, what is not.
