Alok Uniyal's art is multihued and gurative. It is rich in color and full of spirit. He employs
vibrant color to unfold his story. There is charm and intrigue in his work as he exposes
romanticism with wit and sensuality. He uses layers of paint to acquire the even surface of the
background in his work. His images are beautiful and meticulously painted which make them
splendid and imaginative works of art.
In the present series he is inspired by the beautication of our city and its adoration by the
inhabitants. The couples are engaged in their lives, their lovemaking, even as the impression of
the roads and maps are shown on their bodies. The bull is the symbol of the city which is
beautiful, powerful and provides shelter to all. He has therefore named the present series
'Anatomy of a City'.

his work. His backgrounds are enlivened with an abstract play coupled with an amalgamation of

His paintings are concerned with human gures. Mythology, folklore and religious stories
nurtured his childhood. As a natural consequence the contemporary world is projected through
the kaleidoscope of his early memories. His forms are very close to realism yet the given space
seems to be deconstructed in terms of those forms. These may be assets of conventional
vocabulary and is never attempted to render an intense version of distortion. These are conscious
efforts to modify the natural appearances in order to arrive at the intense expressiveness of
realism.
Gopal is neither concerned nor impressed by the fragmentary appreciation of the formal beauty
of a scene. He feels that the central problem in self-expression, in terms of painting, is to arrive
at an estimation of what constituted in his total vision. He feels the need to dene the experience
of a time-span to reect values which are contemporary in art but also perennial and
transcendent in nature. As an ideal spectator, he seeks to state his commitment to interpreting
natural phenomena with a pictorial vocabulary which is the product of a process within the self,
and is intrinsically personal.

gautam mukherjee
Gautam Mukherjee is a sensitive artist. He is sensitive towards his subjects, which mainly revolve
around his family. They are not mere portraits of his family members but are embodiments of the
values a family holds for him. With the birth of his child, recently, his works now reect the love
and bonding that a child brings into a family.
Gautam's style has evolved over a period of time. His colors have brightened. The characters,
which were somber in his earlier works, have become cheerful. But the focus of his creations has
always been the family with emphasis on the close bonding between them. This is depicted in his

Gurukinkar Dhang is an Indian contemporary and modern artist born on 20th July, 1976 in
Howrah, West Bengal. He lives in Pantihal, Jagat Ballavpur, Howrah & Kolkata. He is inspired by
Sigmund Freud. Gurukinkar started painting since he was 15 years old drawing inspiration from
Freudian theories on the unconscious mind, sexual desires transference and the like.
The conict between human beings and society takes form on 24 of his acrylics on canvases. He
