7 billion Singapore LNG

Terminal, a key infrastructure
development in Singapores energy
diversification strategy, is now in
operation. The first phase of
development, comprising two
180,000 m
3
LNG tanks, a jetty and
regasification facilities, started
construction in 2010 and was
completed safely, on schedule
and within budget.

Singapore LNG received its
first shipment of LNG, for the
commissioning of the terminal,
on 27 March 2013. Then on
7 May 2013 the first commercial
LNG cargo from BG Group was
successfully off-loaded at
the terminal.
At the stroke of midnight, the
LNG was regasified and sent
out through the terminal to the
Singapore gas network.
We played a key role in this
project as PMC, providing
expertise and leadership to both
SLNGs project management and
Samsung C&Ts EPC team.
With the strong contribution
from our team, the project was
executed with no lost-time injuries
and a total recordable injury rate
of less than 0.24 per 200,000
manhours - a great achievement
considering that more than
15 million manhours were
expended on the project.
The LNG terminal has an initial
regasification capacity of 3.5
million tonnes per annum (mtpa).
A third LNG tank, additional
regasification facilities and a
secondary berth are currently
under construction. We are
working as PMC on this second
phase, which will increase the
regasification capacity to 6 mtpa
by the end of 2013. Phase 3 FEED
for a fourth tank and additional
facilities for the potential future
expansion of the terminal is
in progress.
Phase 1 of this strategically important project has been a great success.
The close working relationships and team spirit have undoubtedly
contributed to the excellent safety record, and its on-budget and on-time
performance. We will continue to work with the same collaborative team
spirit to help make the next phase just as successful.
