Introduction: a. Greet pupils. b. Pupils respond. Set Induction: a. Pupils sing the song lead by the teacher . b. Pupils say aloud the words in the song that have the letters of /g/, /c/, /o/ and /k/. Step 1: a. Pupils are introduce to the phonemes sounds of the/g/, /c/, /o/ and /k/. b. Pupils sit in pairs. c. Get pupils to write the letters of g, c, o and k on their friend's back with teacher guidance. Teacher writes correct form of the letters on the board. Step 2: a. Pupils read and spell the highlighted words on the chart. b. Pupils complete the exercise on Worksheet 1 with teacher guidance.
Step 3: a. Pupils complete rebus activity by replacing pictures with words. Teacher reads the text and pupils say aloud the words. Consolidation: a. Group pupils into fours. b. Give them letter cards. c. Ask them to form a word and say it aloud. d. Then, they show the class how to segment that word and articulate the phonemes. e. Groups that do it correctly are rewarded. Closure: a. Leave the class by thanking the pupils. b. Pupils respond appropriately.
