Mathematics is very vast subject that has major contribution in development of

every field of life. There is no limit of knowledge of mathematics.

Mathematics Defined

American Heritage Dictionary defines mathematics as “Mathematics is the study of

measurement, properties and relationships of quantities, using number and
symbols.”

According to Longman Dictionary, “Mathematics is the Science of numbers and of

shape including Algebra, Geometry and Arithmetic.”

Explanation of nature of Mathematics

The word “Mathematics” has been derived from Greek language that means
“practice, exercise”. It is a science that deals with numbers, symbols, space, and
area which are based on calculation, algebra, number and Trigonometry. It is
considered as Mother of all sciences. Different concepts related to calculation,
algebra, geometry and trigonometry are studies through it.

In Mathematics, situations, circumstances, facts and facilities are analysed in terms

of form of numbers and are written symbolically. Sometimes, numbers are
