O ye who believe!

turn to Allah with sincere repentance:

(Prohibition)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful


َ َ ُ ‫ ِ َ َُ  ُم َ َأَ 
ا‬
 ِ‫َ َأَ ا‬
1. O Prophet!
why holdest thou to be forbidden that which Allah has made lawful to thee?


َ ِ‫ت َأزْوَا‬
َ َ!َْ ِ"َ#َْ
Thou seekest to please thy consorts.

,١* ٌ%ِ‫وَا ُ )َ(ُ'رٌ ر‬

But Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

ُْ-ِ‫َ ﻥ‬/ْ‫ َأ‬0َ َِ ُْ-َ ُ ‫ض ا‬

َ َ َ2 ْ3َ4
2. Allah has already ordained for you, (O men), the dissolution of your oaths (in some cases):

ُْ‫وَا ُ َ'َْ آ‬
and Allah is your Protector,

,٢* ُ %ِ-َْ‫ ُ ا‬%َِ6ْ‫َوهُ َ' ا‬

and He is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom.

ً@ِ3َ ِ ِ‫ َأزْوَا‬9

ِ ْ6َ‫ ِإَ; ﺏ‬
 ِ‫َوِإذْ َأ=َ  ا‬
3. When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts,

ِ ْ%ََB ُ ‫ ا‬Cُ َ َْD‫َتْ ﺏِ ِ َوَأ‬Aَ‫ ﻥ‬/ََ2

and she then divulged it (to another), and Allah made it known to him,

ٍ ْ6َ‫ ﺏ‬FَB ‫ض‬
َ َ ْB‫َ ُ َوَأ‬Gْ6َ‫ف ﺏ‬
َ  َB
he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part.

‫َا‬Iَ‫ك ه‬
َ َAَ‫ْ أَﻥ‬Fَ ْKَ َ4 ِ ِ‫َهَ ﺏ‬Aَ‫ ﻥ‬/ََ2
Then when he told her thereof, she said, "Who told thee this?"
 ,٣* ُ %َِLْ‫ ُ ا‬%َِ6ْ‫ ا‬
َ ِ‫َﻥ‬Aَ‫َ َل ﻥ‬4
He said, "He told me who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things)."

َ/ُ-ُ‫ُُ'ﺏ‬4 ْKَ"َO ْ3َPَ2 ِ ‫ُ'ﺏَ ِإَ; ا‬#َ ‫إِن‬

4. If ye two turn in repentance to Him, your hearts are indeed so inclined;

ُ ِ َO‫ َوِِْ ُ
َو‬Cُ َْ'َ 'َ ُ‫ن ا َ ه‬
 Tِ َ2 ِ ْ%ََB ‫َ هََا‬Uَ ‫َوإِن‬
but if ye back up each other against him, truly Allah is his Protector, and Gabriel, and (every)
righteous one among those who believe --

,٤* ٌ%َِD 
َ ِ‫ َذ‬3َ ْ6َ‫ ﺏ‬0ُ َ-ِV ََ/ْ‫وَا‬
and furthermore, the angels -- will back (him) up.

 ُ- ‫ًْا‬%َ‫َ ُ َأزْوَاً ﺥ‬3ِ ُْ ‫ أَن‬F
 ُ-َPَX ‫َ; َرﺏ ُ إِن‬YَB
5. It may be, if he divorced you (all), that Allah will give him in exchange Consorts better than you

‫ت‬
ٍ َِV َ= ‫ت‬
ٍ ‫َا‬3ِ‫َ ﺏ‬B ‫ت‬
ٍ َِV َ ‫ت‬
ٍ َ#ِ‫َ ﻥ‬4 ‫ت‬
ٍ َِْR ‫ت‬
ٍ َ/ِْYُ
who submit (their wills), who believe, who are devout, who turn to Allah in repentance, who
worship (in humility), who travel (for faith) and fast --

,٥* ‫َ رًا‬-ْ‫ت َوَأﺏ‬

ٍ َ%َ‫ﺙ‬
previously married or virgins.

‫ ]َُ'ا‬F
َ ِI‫َ َأَ ا‬
6. O ye who believe!

‫س وَاِْ_َ َر ُة‬
ُ ‫ُ' ُدهَ ا‬4‫ُْ ﻥَ رًا َو‬-%ِْ‫ُْ َوأَه‬-َYُ(‫ُ'ا أَﻥ‬4
save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones,

ٌ‫َاد‬3ِb ٌ‫ٌ )َِ ظ‬0َ-ِV ََ َْ%ََB

over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe,

,٦* ‫ن‬
َ ‫َُْو‬Rُ َ ‫ن‬
َ 'َُ6ْ(َ‫ن ا َ َ َأَ َهُْ َو‬
َ 'ُdْ6َ َ
who flinch not (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do (precisely) what
they are commanded.

‫َ'ْ َم‬%ْ‫رُوا ا‬Iِ َ#ْ6َ َ ‫ آَ(َُوا‬F

َ ِI‫َ َأَ ا‬
7. (They will say),
"O ye Unbelievers!
make no excuses this day!

,٧* ‫ن‬
َ 'َُ/ْ6َ ُْ#ُ‫ن َ آ‬
َ ْ‫و‬fَ ْ_ُ َ/‫ِإﻥ‬
Ye are being but requited for all that ye did!"

 ً'ُd‫ ﻥ‬0ً َ‫ ]َُ'ا ُ'ﺏُ'ا ِإَ; ا ِ َ'ْﺏ‬F
َ ِI‫َ َأَ ا‬
8. O ye who believe!
turn to Allah with sincere repentance:

ُْ-ِ َh%َ= ُْ-َB َ (َ-ُ ‫ُْ أَن‬-‫َ; َرﺏ‬YَB

in the hope that your Lord will remove from you your ills

‫َﻥَْ ُر‬Aْ‫َِ ا‬#َْ Fِ ‫ت َ_ِْي‬

ٍ َ ُْ-َِ‫ْﺥ‬3ُ‫َو‬
and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow --

ُ َ6َ ‫ ]َُ'ا‬F
َ ِI‫ وَا‬
 ِ‫ي ا ُ ا‬fِ ْLُ َ ‫َ'ْ َم‬
the Day that Allah will not permit to be humiliated the Prophet and those who believe with him.

ِِْ‫َ ﻥ‬/َْAِ‫ِِْ َوﺏ‬3ْ‫ َأ‬F

َ ْ%َ‫َ; ﺏ‬6ْYَ ُْ‫ﻥُ' ُره‬
Their Light will run forward before them and by their right hands,

ََ ِْ(ْ)‫ِْ ََ ﻥُ' َرﻥَ وَا‬/ْ‫ن َرﺏَ َأ‬

َ 'ُ'ُPَ
while they say,
"Our Lord!
perfect our Light for us,
and grant us Forgiveness;

,٨* ٌِ3َ4 ‫َْ ٍء‬b

 ُ‫ََ; آ‬B 
َ ‫ِإﻥ‬
for Thou has power over all things."

ِْْ%ََB ْlُْ)‫ وَا‬F

َ %ِPِ2 َُ/ْ‫ُ( َر وَا‬-ْ‫ ا‬3ِ ِ‫ َ ه‬
 ِ‫َ َأَ ا‬
9. O Prophet!
strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them.

,٩* ُ %ِdَ/ْ‫ ا‬m

َ ْhِ‫ْوَاهُْ ََ ُ َوﺏ‬Aَ‫َو‬
Their abode is Hell -- an evil refuge (indeed).

ٍ‫ح َوِاْ ََأ َة ُ'ط‬

ٍ 'ُ‫ آَ(َُوا ِاْ ََأ َة ﻥ‬F
َ ِI ًَ@َ ُ ‫ب ا‬
َ َ َ!
10. Allah sets forth, for an example to the Unbelievers, the wife of Noah and the wife of Lut:

ِ ْ%َِ َO َ‫َِ ِدﻥ‬B ْFِ F
ِ ْ3َ َْB K
َ َْ َ#َ‫آَ ﻥ‬
they were (respectively) under two of Our righteous servants,

ًhْ%َb ِ ‫ ا‬F

َ ِ َ/َُْB َ%ِْ"ُ ََْ2 َ/ُ‫َ ه‬#َ‫َ ﻥ‬Lَ2
but they were false to their (husbands), and they profited nothing before Allah on their account,

,١٠* F
َ %ِِ‫اﺥ‬3‫ ا‬rَ َ ‫ َ
ادْﺥَُ ا َر‬%ِ4‫َو‬
but were told: "Enter ye the fire along with (others) that enter!"

َ ْ'َBِْ2 ‫ ]َُ'ا ِاْ ََأ َة‬F
َ ِI ًَ@َ ُ ‫ب ا‬
َ َ َ!‫َو‬
11. And Allah sets forth, as an example to those who believe, the wife of Pharaoh:

0ِ َ_ْ‫ِ ا‬2 ً#ْ%َ‫ك ﺏ‬

َ 3َ ِB ِ F
ِ ْ‫ب اﺏ‬
 ‫ْ َر‬Kَ َ4 ْ‫ِإذ‬
Behold, she said: "O my Lord! build for me, in nearness to Thee, a mansion in the Garden,

ِ َِ/َB‫ن َو‬
َ ْ'َBِْ2 Fِ ِ_َ‫َوﻥ‬
and save me from Pharaoh and his doings,

,١١* F
َ %ِ/ِ U‫َ'ْ ِم ا‬Pْ‫ ا‬F
َ ِ ِ_َ‫َوﻥ‬
and save me from those that do wrong;"

َََْ2 ْKََdْ‫ِ َأ‬#‫ن ا‬

َ ‫َْا‬/ِB K
َ َْ‫َوََْ َ اﺏ‬
12. And Mary the daughter of 'Imran
Imran,
Imran who guarded her chastity;

َِ‫ رو‬Fِ ِ %ِ2 َْLَ(ََ2

and We breathed into her (body) of Our spirit;

,١٢* F
َ %ِ#ِ‫َ ﻥ‬Pْ‫ ا‬F
َ ِ ْKَ‫ُِ ِ َوآَ ﻥ‬#ُ‫ت َرﺏَ َوآ‬
ِ َ/َِ-ِ‫ْ ﺏ‬Kَ43 َO‫َو‬
and she testified to the truth of the words of her Lord and of His Revelations, and was one of
the devout (Servants).
