As the Indian economy records appreciable growth in all the sectors, there has been an
increase in the demand from the growing corporate sector for well trained and skilled
manpower personnel. The philosophy of college education is translated into a mission
of creating wholesome personality of human beings with a view to produce better
employees with modern attitude, practical wisdom, knowledge and skills relevant to
enable them to move forward confidently. We at PGDAV College, deeply ingrain the
students to become competent and dynamic entrepreneurs and professionals in todays
rapidly changing economic and industrial environment. We hope to receive your
support in providing all our young and enthusiastic aspirants the apt platform for
nurturing the talented corporate inside them.
About The College
Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (PGDAV) College, founded in the
year 1957 by DAV College Managing Society draws its traditions of excellence
learning from- Delhi University and DAV Education Trust. This co-educational
institution undertakes teaching in eleven departments offering both
undergraduate and post graduate courses.
Over the years, the college has emerged as an epitome of perfection under the
stewardship of its highly qualified and experienced faculty which has led to the
creation of extremely talented and academically bright students in all the
disciplines.
Apart from ensuring regularized learning platform, the college provides
supportive vocational experience through a number of co-curricular societies
and academic associations in various subjects. The college strives to provide an
environment that nurtures qualities of humanism and inculcates values of
team work, innovation and initiate.

Strengths of The College
The college excels in the performance of all the pillars of education namely-
Academics- Our students have been portraying complete dedication towards their studies by -
Providing our college with an average of 72.48%.
In the year 2012, they provided the college appreciable results B.Com(H) 95%, Eng (H)
92%, Mathematics (H) 100%, B Sc Computer Science (H) 100% and so for other courses as well.
Moreover, our students are also marking their presence as rank holders in various professional
courses like CA, CS etc.

Strengths Continued
Sports- PGDVians have also been proving themselves to be the best
when it comes to stay fit and healthy by excelling in sports. In fact, sports
has always been a very strong area of PGDAV. In the year 2013-14, our
college teams participated in 21 different events and bagged various
prizes like-
Gold and bronze medals in the inter-college Taekwondo Championship
Bronze in Delhi State Taekwondo Championship.
Gold in the inter-college Wrestling Championship.
Silver medal in Delhi State Para-Olympic games for visually challenged
sports persons.
Our students will be representing Delhi university in Taekwondo and
Wrestling. Two students have been selected for Volleyball Mens Team of
Delhi University.

Cultural-Under the umbrella of Hyperion, various cultural societies have been making us
proud by winning various competitions like-
Rudra (dramatics society) won 1

prizes at IIT Mumbai, Jamia Millia Islamia
University, Institute of Home Economics (DU), Keshav Mahavidyalaya(DU), Vivekanand
Mahila College (DU) and Bhaskaracharya College.
Conundrum (western music society) won 1
st
prizes at SGND Khalsa College (DU), Faculty
of Law (DU), Dyal Singh College (DU), Jagannath Institute of Management Studies. They
also bagged the first prize in the prelims of IIT Kharaghpur and IIT Mumbai fest this year.
This year also saw the photography society, Iris, win the national level online photography
competition and the designer society, Aphrodite, get directly selected for the respective
competition in the Bits Pilani organized fest on the basis of their remarkable talent and
skills.
Our students won the battles on the grounds of their debating skills by securing first and
second position at Sri Venkateshwara College (DU) and Hindu College (DU) respectively.
Moreover, NCC, NSS and the Academic societies of our college are equally active and
competent.
