If youre a guest with us this morning, or youve been
visiting First Pres, stop by First Step after the 11am worship

is hosted by Dr. Case Thorp in the Legacy Room. Its the
perfect place to ask questions and get to know others. The
Legacy Room is located just outside the Sanctuary, in the
Edington Ministry Center.

NOTES
Still gone (heavy sigh). Greetings from Hilton Head,
SC as were getting ready for week two of Fun In The
Son. Its been an amazing time of worship here and
has been great to see our future generation of church
leadership worship so recklessly. The youth staf are
here to lead you this morning. Be responsive and
receptive as the Holy Spirit leads you. Love you, Church!

G E N E S I S WOR S H I P T R A D I T I ON A L WOR S H I P
During each of our weeks, all of us are engaged in various
activities and conversations. We have many things going
through our minds. We are reminded again and again of
the never-ending tragedies that surround us throughout
the world. With little efort, we can be weighed down with
an overwhelming sense of futility. But, one of the great
things of being in worship with fellow believers is that we
are always reminded of Gods story. Worship is not about
our world and our situation; it is about what God has done,
is doing, and continues to do in this world. In the end, God
wins. Worship is about regaining a larger perspective and
putting our lives back into the true focus: Christ has died,
Christ is risen, Christ will come again. Without worshiping
with other followers of Christ, we easily lose direction and
become lost in our worlds. This life is a journey through
an alien land. Though we live and work in this world to
make it better, this world is not our home. The booths
that the Jews build for the Festival of Booths always have
open roofs, to remind them that as they sleep at night, this
world is temporary and their ultimate home is in heaven.
The Lord will bring all of His adopted children home.

*Passing of the Peace
St. Paul always greeted with the words, The peace of God be
with you. This is an appropriate way to greet fellow brothers
and sisters in Christ, and so we say, The peace of the Lord be
with you and respond, And also with you. We then pass this
greeting of peace to one another. At the passing of the peace
we should earnestly desire Gods peace upon each person we
greet.

RECYCLE YOUR BULLETIN
8:30am & 9:45am worshipers can help the church be better
stewards of our resources and environment by placing this
worship bulletin in one of our recycling stations as you leave
today.
There are two right outside the Sanctuary: one in the Grand
Hallway leading to the Edington Ministry Center, and one
across from the entrance to the Prayer Room. If youre in Lee
Fellowship Hall, look for one to the right of the exit as you
leave.
The bulletins are reused for the 11:00am worship
service, and recycled on Monday morning.
WELCOME!
