Ar.Chew Sein Yat

Ar.Chew Sein Yat is a certified and licensed architect in Malaysia. He is currently
working in CS Chew Architects Sdn Bhd. He is the director of CS Chew Architects Sdn Bhd.
Ar.Chew Sein Yat have always had a passion for architecture. He gained a lot of experiences
during his undergraduate life and took it to successful completion. Before he started his own
company, he gained his working experience by working in Benoy Architects during his
internship and CS Chew Chartered Architects & Town Planners.

Working in different company has made him learned different things, gained priceless
experiences and knowledge. During his internship in Benoy Architects he learned about master
planning competition. He believes that proper master planning is crucial to the ultimate success
of any project. He provides the graphic medium desired to persuade the client's requirements
and desires in a manner that is clearly understood.

Besides that, experiences he gained from CS Chew Chartered Architects & Town
Planners are project design, development, implementation and contract administration. He
developed practical and technical understanding of building materials and elements, structures,
construction and lateral thinking skills to solve complex problems. While working in CS Chew
Architects Sdn Bhd he experienced client servicing.
Ar.Chew Sein Yet not only gained working experiences by working but also gained
experiences through handling of various projects. One of the big projects he handled is the 188
Suites in Kuala Lumpur. 188 Suites is a prestigious service apartment in the heart of Kuala
Lumpur. It is the perfect home where residential suite experience of surpassed comfort and
state of the art facilities. Throughout this project, he put in all his experience gained and
knowledge. This project taught him that everything takes time and therefore really has to
prioritize time well. He listens carefully to what's required, seek clarification when needed and
showing initiative by taking on more than what's expected. This opportunity has taught him to
be more self-reliant, creative and discipline in order to meet the date of completion.
Working has never been easy to him. He has to face more and more restrictions day
by day. One of it is clients changing their mind. This is probably the biggest challenges he as a
professional architect faces. Clients begin rethinking or over thinking and want to make
changes. This isnt a big deal early in the process, but once construction begins, it can throw off
the date of completion and explode the budget. To solve this, he had learned that he has to
come out with proposal that convinced the authority and to waive or interpret strategies
differently.
Ar.Chew Sein Yet has to always worry about the building performances such as the
energy consumption, security, building with high build ability thats comfortable with contractors.
Some of the contractors insisted not to work on a project as its presented. They try to keep
their costs low by conveying the homeowner how to save money .Saving money is a powerful
lure and homeowners can be easily persuaded.

In conclusion, after having the experiences of working, he begun to see the level of
commitment and responsibility needed when engaging in a project. Good co-operation and
communication is required between clients, contractors and architects. Working has taught and
helped him to develop a more sophisticated understanding of the various roles and abilities. It
made him ensure that he is on the right path and gave him a better knowledge to be a more
discipline and better architect in the future. However, there are still a lot of things that I need to
learn said Ar.Chew Sein Yat.
