ASSIGNMENT (10%)

Complete this assignment by following the instructions listed below:

1. Choose one segment of the industry listed below:
o Airline
o Tele-communication
o Chilled food
o Health Drinks
o Baby care
o Furniture
o Beauty
o Automobile

2. Pick 3 brands under your chosen industry.
3. Pick at least 9 advertisements by the brands (ideally 3 ads for each brand). The advertisements can belong to the
same advertising campaign or different campaigns run throughout its lifespan.
4. Compile these advertisements in a Power Point and analyze the following criteria:
o Type of market it is targeting (refer to Lecture 2)
o AIDA
o Type of media
o Hard sell or soft sell
o Target Audience
o The concept (big idea)

5. The format of your Power Point presentation should be as below:
o First slide: Cover page
KDU logo
Subject code and title
Name of student
Student ID
Name of lecturer

o Second slide: Introduce the brand (Max. 2 slides)
Brief background of the brand
Picture of the logo

o Third slide onwards: Analysis of advertisements
Should consist of picture of advertisements and its analysis

o Final slide: Referencing

6. Print out your Power Point slides in handout format (4 slides per page) to be handed in to your lecturer.

Plagiarism & Collusion
Plagiarism refers to the practice of borrowing work from someone else without indicating a reference. This applies when
the borrowed work is a direct quote or indirect concept (ideas expressed are not ones own).
A student who has committed plagiarism may be penalized the grade of FAIL for the assignment OR the grade of FAIL
for the unit. The plea of ignorance will NOT be accepted.
To avoid plagiarism, reference all works (APA referencing format ONLY) that have been borrowed from other authors.

1. This is a group assignment. Your group should only contain THREE (3) people. Otherwise, speak to your
lecturer or youre not allowed to present.
2. To be graded, your assignment needs to be presented to the class. Handing in your printed copy does not ensure
you any grading point.
3. Referencing: APA Format only

5. Penalties for lateness : Any work handed in later than 22

7. Extension : Exceptions will only be CONSIDERED when there is prior notice, illness or
accidents. In the case of illness or accident, a doctors letter and medical
certificate must be submitted to the lecturer immediately upon return.
