Hello people!
European Day of Languages
European Day of Languages In
DRONI we like any kind of
diversity and thats why we
are planning to organise the
European Day of Languages
that happens every year on
26th of September.
The general objectives of this
day are to alert the public to
the importance of language
learning and intercultural un-
derstanding, to promote the
rich linguistic and cultural
diversity of Europe and to
encourage lifelong language
learning in and out of school.
So, as we think that these
aims are important, we are
preparing some express
language courses and, possi-
bly, also language exchanges
and some movie screenings
in original version.
Do you like languages? Do
you want to learn more
about them? Stay tuned and
see you on 26th!

together with british NGO
Commpact Europe held pro-
ject called "Fostering Intercul-

Programme of the exchange
was focused on discovering
architecture of Tbilisi and
improving photography and
videomaking skills.
Participants had an opportuni-
ty to take part in professional
photography workshops,
which was the base for 3 day
long photo shooting in Tbilisi.

The next day, there was orga-

and a city game.
It was followed by the presen-

about the environmental situ-

After that, there was held
environmental discussions,

In July an Youth Exchange was
held in Armenia. Six countries
took part in this project: Mol-
dova, Armenia and Georgia. 5
participants attended this pro-
ject from DRONI: Nino Khati-
sashvili, Tinatin Bobokhidze,
Mariam Papashvili, Mate Bara-
mia and group leader Maka
Shulaia.
Project started on 11th of July,
with the welcoming party,
which was organized by the
Georgian team. The aim of this
evening was to help participants
people about the environmen-
tal issues. We made a campa-
ign, on the street, we sewed
some eco-bags and then expo-
sed them to people, to let
them know, that in order to
be healthy, one needs to use
eco-bags instead of plastic-
bags. Everybody tried their
best.
In total, I can say that Im very
satisfied with the Georgian
Group, they were quite active
and involved.

New EVS volunteers, from
Slovakia and Poland came to
DRONI in the begining of
July. After a week of intro-
duction they began to work
on their first project called
Eco Project. Our task was
to prepare presentations
and workshops that will be
able to enlarge the knowledge
and awareness of the partici-
pants about ecology.
We have prepared a presen-
tation that was given on Tues-
day, July 9, 2013, in DRONI
office. You might find there
statistics related to ecology,
global issues and how Slovakia
and Poland solve environ-
mental problems in their
countries. Examples can be
the creation of national parks
(in Poland 23, Slovakia 9),
trash segregation, more and
more bike paths, and runners
promoting a healthy lifestyle.
This has a positive impact on
the ecological development in
t h e s e c o u n t r i e s .

Two days later, on Thursday,
we organized a workshop on
alternative use of waste. What
you can do with the empty
bottles, old newspapers or
tetra pack packaging? As it
turns out you can do a lot.
Our ideas on this day were
houses for birds with bot-
tles, baskets for pens from
old newspapers and the
wallets of tetra pack packag-
ing. All come with a smile on
their face and a big commit-
ment to participate in our
w o r k s h o p s .
We also prepared the same
presentation, but for kids
from Tbilisi Sea school, so we
changed it a little bit that it
could be understandable for
young children. I think, that
more kids enjoyed workshops
than presentation, they were
really involved in recycling old
trashes into a new more use-
f u l u s e f u l t h i n g s .

The main event of the project
was cleaning action. EVS vol-
unteers, local volunteers from
DRONI and kids from TSS
cleaned up the forest next to
Tbilisi Sea school. We wanted
to encourage kids to protect
t h e i r e n v i r o n me n t .

Being a volunteer with quite a
low-budget you sometimes have
to make effort to plan your
spendings wisely.
Although the public transporta-
tion is quite cheap (but not
always very comfortable and
safe), being in Georgia you
should definitely try hitchhiking.
In my opinion the main advan-
tage of this way of travelling is
not about low costs, but the
fact that you have always a
chance to have a nice conversa-

For whole August Droni held
short-term EVS ecological
project in Zugdidi, in which
took part participants from
Georgia, France, United
Kindgdom, Slovakia and Po-
land with great support of
local youth from St. Giorgi
gymnasium.
The projects main goal was
to increase ecological aware-
ness and pro-social attitude
among georgian teenagers.
We started our activities from
discovering the area through
the city game togheter with
our local guides, then all the
national groups prepared
presentation about their co-
untries connected with prepa-
ring national dishes. Our yo-
ung participans had chance to
taste such a delicacies as briti-
sh sweet scones, french cre-
pes, slovakian zemiakov plac-
ky and polish "russian pierogi".
Of course Georgian wouldn't
be Georgians if they didn't
host us with famous traditio-
nal Supra held in typi-
cal Megrelian house ran by a
lovely landlady.
Sounds nice, but
what about ecology? During
this relatively short period of
time we managed to organize
several different events devo-
ted to enviromental issues.
Green spirit of Zugdidi
activities such as basketball
match and energizers. There
were also Georgian lessons
for foreigners.
One of the most
interesting events were eco-
workshops in the ruins of
Rukhi castle. Slovakian team
showed us how to make ba-
skets from old newspapers
and bird feeders, piggy banks
and other decoration from
plastic bottles.
The final event of
our project was flashmob on
the main square of Zugdidi.
Together with local young
volunteers performing some
Georgian and pop dances.
During the action we distribu-
ted flyers about local enviro-
mental problems to the citi-
zens.
On weekends we
had opportunity to visit such
an amazing places like Mestia,
Abchazia and Batumi. It was
great to spend summertime in
Samagrelo in a very hospitable
and warm house with such a
great company.

We started with rubbish col-

the effort was swimming and

sters could enjoy the treasure
hunting eco-game organised in
old and mysterious Dadianis
botanical garden, even though
the weather turned out to be
very unpredictable, and we
had to finish our activity in
the heavy rain.
Almost everyday we
had workhops in St. Giorgi
gymnasium, and not only abo-
ut to ecology.Our volunteers
prepared social media presen-
tation, we could learn Geor-

the time spent in Poland. I was
working with children with
fewer opportunities who
couldnt leave their home
town. I was working with 11
volunteer. Our duty was to
entertain them. I learnt how
to work in a team and indi-
vidually, how to be creative in
order to make children happy.
Except working we had op-
portunity to travel around
Poland, make bike-trips to
forest or lake, make bonfire,
barbecues and so on. I found
out that nothing is impossible.
I was afraid of living independ-
ently but it wasnt difficult at
all. I did many things which
Ive never done before: par-
ticipated in bike-trip, played
volleyball, travelled alone
I am Liako. I am a volunteer at
Youth Association DRONI.
One day Polish EVS volunteer
told me about short-term EVS
vacancy in Poland. That time I
couldnt even imagine that I
would go for it. But I wrote
motivation letter, made video
about me and in few days they
called me for interview.
When they called me and
informed me that I was se-
lected, I was happy and con-
fused at the same time. It was
unbelievable. I was kind of
afraid of.I dont know of
many things. Now I am thank-
ful of Youth Association
DRONI to give me amazing
opportunity to make two
months EVS in Poland.
To be honest, I enjoyed a lot
My advice to every young
people is to make EVS, use
this opportunity to get experi-
ence, gain new skills, spend
amazing time, get new
friends.

season in Georgia, Kobuleti will turn to life again, because it will
host the most alive and energetic youth from following 6 EU and
Non-EU countries: Poland, Estonia, Italy, Ukraine, Armenia and of
course Georgia.

this summer unforgettable for each of them. Project is financed
within Youth in Action Programme of the European Union.
The youth exchange Show and Act to Exchange is about 16-20 year old youth with and without
fewer opportunities, different social backgrounds and experiences. Our aim is to create an envi-
ronment where participants move beyond the cultural, social-economical and national boundaries
and have dialogue between each-other.
The youth exchange with its various non-formal education methods, team building activities,
amusing program, nice atmosphere etc. will help each participant to express themselves and be-
come more self-confident and Presence of such a big group of children definitely will make this
little town alive for some more 10 days. Communication in foreign language will improve partici-
pants verbal and non-verbal communicational and language skills.

neighborhood and those who will be interested to join our final exhibition in the forest, near the
