Coronado Playhouse flies over the rainbow for
Journey through Oz
a Musical Cabaret
partnered with Hearts for San Diego

In August, San Diego becomes America's Finest Emerald City as host of the 2014 Winkie
Con International conference celebrating L. Frank Baum and everything from the Land of
Oz. Join Coronado Playhouse down the yellow brick road before the 50th annual
conference begins with Journey through Oz-a Musical Cabaret. The two night event
August 1-2, 2014 includes a spectacular line up of some of San Diego County's top
theatrical talent performing songs from iconic Oz-related shows like "The Wizard of Oz",
"The Wiz" and "Wicked". There will also be an audience sing-a-long and a dance
performance by the east county's Pickwick Players Youth Troupe.

Journey through Oz-a Musical Cabaret places audiences in an intimate theatre setting
close to the action with cocktails and appetizers served from the bar throughout the
evening and table service offered by enchanted costumed characters. A meet and greet
with performers happens after each show. Coronado Playhouse, the Community's
Theatre, hosts an exciting raffle powered by the new Hearts for San Diego organization
which launches this fall to connect and inspire communities to support local charities.
Come to the event and find out more about Hearts for San Diego and buy raffle tickets for
prizes that include luxury hotel stays and valuable gift certificates to local businesses.

This special event extravaganza is narrated by Michael Van Allen with scheduled
performers: Debbie David, Brian P. Evans, Joe Fitzpatrick Junior, Galvan Galvan, Danny
Ingersoll, Joey Kirkpatrick, Laura Lothian, Michael Mentz, Heather Rager, Frank Remiatte,
Meredith Russo (Friday evening only), Alisa Crandall Williams and Cameron Williams. The
show is directed by Thomas Fitzpatrick with musical direction and accompaniment by the
talented Kirk Valles and is produced by Coronado Playhouse veterans Chris Powell and
Debbie David.
