Role of Hormones during Estrus Cycle Higher concentration of progesterone after insemination gives confirmation that cow is pregnant. Accuracy : Positive Pregnancy : 96.9% Negative Pregnancy : 97.8% Detection of Progesterone is the only method to detect Early Pregnancy in the animal just after 18 th day post insemination
This test detect accurate pregnancy in recipients after 11-15 days of post Embryo Transplant 9 SPECIMEN COLLECTION AND PREPARATION
For Dairy / Beef Cow, Sheep and Goat (Lactating Animal), Camel, Mares
Take whole milk to test its progesterone level directly. In order to get reliable result, give up the first three milking and then collect sample milk around 5-10ml. Mix the sample milk well before testing. Pour 2-3 drops Milk. Sometimes milk with high viscosity prevents its spreading to all areas of the kit. So, the specimen could not go up to the whole membrane and apparently stopped in the middle of the test . To solve this problem, you will need to keep the milk still (at rest) for half an hour after collection, and then draw the milk from the bottom layer using the dropper and use that milk on the test kit. Please note that the milk cream usually floats on the surface. In this condition pour 3-5 drops of Milk.
SPECIMEN COLLECTION AND PREPARATION For Heifer/Lactating/Non-Lactating animal Blood withdrawn and collect it in a collection tube, left it in horizontal position for 30 minutes, then left it vertical for another 30 minutes, till blood clot. A clear liquid appear over the clot. Collect the serum in the dropper and pour 3-4 drops on the circular well.
Keep Horizontal Position for 30 Minutes After 30 Minutes Keep Vertical Position for 30 Minutes Serum PROCEDURE
1. Remove the test device and dropper from its foil wrapper by tearing along the slice.
2. Using the dropper, withdraw the milk or blood serum sample from the specimen cup and slowly dispense 3 4 drops into the circular sample well. The sample liquid moves slowly to the other end due to the capillarity. You will see one or two red lines in the result window.
3. Read results at 5 minutes.(in high viscosity of milk sometime it takes 5-7minutes ) 13 A schematic diagram for the simple procedure Bovipreg INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Positive: If both T band and C band are visible, the test result is Positive which means the cow is pregnant or in middle period of estrous cycle. Negative: If only C line is visible, the test result is negative, which indicates the cow is not pregnant. Invalid: When control line does not appear on the membrane, the test is invalid due to improper test procedure or deterioration of reagents. It is recommended that the test be repeated. PRECAUTION (1) Test according to the law of the estrous cycle strictly.
(2) For single use only; do not reuse the test devices.
(3) Dont keep the strip or cassette in the air for a long time after unpacking.
(4) Do not use test kit after expiry date. VALIDITY AND STORAGE
The period of the validity is 24 months. Store as packaged in the sealed pouch under the room temperature. Avoid light. We recommend 5 consecutive test for those cows where we do not have sufficient information regarding the date of insemination, during this test if one result comes to negative then you will be confirmed that the animal is not pregnant, otherwise pregnancy will be establish. To detect early pregnancy please perform ONE test between 18 th -22 nd days after insemination date.
These kits can be stored in normal room temperature or can be transport anywhere in room temperature.
During early pregnancy test if found negative (OPEN), wait for the heat(Estrus) to come within 21-22 nd days and re-inseminate them without wasting any day.
A. COWSIDE ANYBODY CAN DO THE TEST B. EASY TO PERFORM THE TEST C. TEST TAKE 5 MINUTES TO GET THE RESULT D. NON-INVASIVE DOES NOT INJURE THE ANIMAL E. DETECT EARLY PREGNANCY F. USE IN VARIUOS REPRODUCTIVE MANAGEMENT // Estrus Detection // Embryo Transplant // Non-cycling cow// Endocrine treatment
