Enterprise Network Group is a London based IT service provider that offers a wide range of IT
Technologies, services and solutions for blue chip and corporate clients both in the UK and world
wide.
System Engineer duties involved the implementation of a wide range of IT solutions including:
Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server – AD, Group Policy, implementation, admin & support
Compaq Proliant server builds ie W2000/2003
Providing onsite IT support for Davy process one of ENG biggest clients, My
responsibilities consist of supporting an active directory structure in a 2000/2003 server
environment with 220 XP professional Desktops, daily tasks involve general Server health
checks, Lan admin duties, desktop support and taken ownership of high priority calls and
overseeing they are dealt with in a prompt and efficient manner.
IT Projects
This project involved installing Hp proliant DL 380 server’s throughout all Marriott
international regional hotels and installing windows 2003 server, implementing and
configuring paired network cards, HP insight agent, equinox software, auto login software
and
Marriott’s interface software. The server’s main function is to interface with the equinox box
which communicates with legacy serial comms equipment and forward all information to the
virtual comms port created and managed by the equinox software on the server.
This Project involved Imaging and configuring windows XP on all Desk top PC’s and
Laptops through Marriott international Hotels within the northeast region
This Project involved installing and configuring Backup Exec enterprise edition on all
Marriott international hotels regional Backup Servers and creating a disaster recovery image
of all critical systems on site.
This project involved installing and configuring ISDN routers and VPN software on all
regional Shaw-trust satellite offices.
This Project involved building a Windows 2003 Hp proliant server and installing and
configuring MCafee ePolicy Orchestrator, to centralize and distribute virus system and
definition updates at Davy Process Technology
Norwich Union (Your Move property services) February 2000 – September 2003
Main responsibilities were providing 3rd level support to Your Move organisation and also
being part of the project team. This involves giving technical assistance to designated
support personnel with in the organisation and taking ownership of high priority calls which
are technically demanding and have filtered through the helpdesk, I was also involved with
various IT project work.
Your Move systems structure consists of three thousands NT 4 clients positioned at various
call centres and branches throughout the UK, all connecting to a large master domain
enterprise model via a Wide Area Network. The core business systems are a number of
Progress database servers all running on a NT 4 platform storing and serving images to all
clients running Preview Your moves in house application.
My main responsibilities were the support and implementation of network servers at both
hardware and software level. Other duties are providing onsite desktop implementation and
support, including NT rollouts general LAN admin and Exchange server 5.5 admin duties to
all Compel corporate customers. I was also part of Compels server support team, in this role
I was on 24hr standby supporting various customers critical servers. I have extensive
Knowledge and experience of supporting Compaq, IBM and Microsoft products at desktop
and enterprise level.
Computer Terminal Services August 1992 – December 1996
Title: IT Field Service Engineer
My main duties were providing technical support and assistance to user experiencing
application and hardware errors within their systems, under a Microsoft Windows
workgroup and Windows 95 environments. To efficiently provide this service it was
necessary to initially contact customers verbally by telephone in a problem-solving role. If
an application fault was diagnosed this could be solved or eliminated by informing customer
of correct procedures to be carried out i.e. reloading software and drivers. Hardware
problems would require my on-site attendance to accurately diagnose the fault within the
system and to rectify accordingly; other areas of responsibility further include the
maintenance and repair of printers and photocopiers.
My duties mainly involved developing, debugging and updating software, coded in Pascal,
to be executed on various image processing units, all of which were interfaced by PC's.
Other duties involved supporting Joyce Loeble's software products by producing write-ups
and manuals on all projects I was involved with. I was further involved in providing training
and support to the end user, and called upon to solve user problems and answer queries.
