I also conducted and mastered numerous reading running records using the Fountas and Pinnell assessment tool kit, allowing me to better place students at appropriate reading levels. I provided one-on-one reading support with struggling students.
Novi Woods Elementary School June 2013 Novi, MI Field Placement- (K-2) Resource Room. During this field placement, I was able to witness effective Positive Behavior Support initiatives, and confer with my coopering teacher about the roles of an IEP home/school connection. I gained helpful strategies to use inside a classroom of my own that will help me better serve the needs of all my students.
University Preparatory Academy December 2013 Detroit, MI Writing Club Leader, Completed ten sessions working in an after-school writing club with three second grade students. Each week, I would develop mini lessons following the writing process. The students, with my guidance and support created a piece of writing with confidence and was able to gain the experience of what it feels like to be an author. All pieces of literature were published in the school magazine.
