SAS PUDONG HIGH SCHOOL FINAL EXAMINATION GUIDE SEMESTER I, 2011-2012
PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THESE
INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY! Preparation: The best way to study is to review early and often and get a good full seven to eight hours of sleep the night before, and a nourishing breakfast before leaving for school. Studying all night does NO GOOD if you are unable to think clearly during the exam. Final exams are not merely exercises in recall, but frequently call for analysis and deep thinking. Everyone needs a rested and nourished mind for that to happen. Good Luck! Testing Site Guidelines Seating is assigned and posted at door of testing site and in advance in front of the High School Office. Report 15 minutes ahead to your assigned seat at the exam venue before the scheduled starting time of the exam. Find your seat on the seating charts and move quietly to your assigned seat. Leave all bags/backpacks/computers in your locker. Regular pencil bags are not allowed into the exam venue. If you need a bag to carry your pens/pencils it must be clear plastic so that the contents inside are visible to proctors. Ensure the correct exam is in front of you. Make sure your name and teachers name are clearly written on your exam. Do not open or begin the exam until instructed. No talking is allowed once you enter the exam venue. Cell phones and other electronic devices are not allowed. If your cell-phone rings, it will be confiscated and only returned directly to your parent. If you are using a cell phone or other electronic device, you will be asked to leave the exam room and will receive no credit on your exam. Bathroom breaks will only be permitted in cases of extreme emergency. Raise your hand and you will be escorted to the bathroom by a proctor. If you need assistance or extra paper, please put your hand up and wait patiently until a proctor is able to assist you. At the end of the exam, please wait quietly to be dismissed. You will not be let out of the exam site early. If you are sitting a 2+ hour exam, you may be dismissed before the time period for that test is over at the discretion of the lead proctor of that testing site. Please be aware of any exams you are taking that are longer or shorter than the standard 2 hour length. The length of the exam will be indicated on your exam cover sheet.

Quiet Study During Exams The High School Building needs to be quiet at all times during exams, including in the hallways where teachers are working in their rooms. You may study quietly in these areas: Library 2 nd floor of the Cafeteria (seniors) Lower Cafeteria (except for MS lunch time) You may ask a teacher permission to study quietly in their room if the teacher is present in the room. Transportation Students who do not have an exam do not have to remain at school provided you have arranged a driver/taxi beforehand. Regular school bus schedules will be maintained before and after school. There are no buses in the middle of the day. Office staff cannot assist in arranging transportation. Do this in advance to avoid inconvenience for yourself. Students may come and go from school on their own, according to their individual exam schedule. If they have no exam scheduled on a given day, they do not have to come to school (but can stay home and study). Students may take the school bus to or from school if they are regular bus riders. Conflict and Make-up Exams Conflict exams are scheduled in advance with your teacher. Make-up exams for illness must be scheduled in advance through Mr. Burgess.
