COOPERATIVE DEER MANAGEMENT
BRANDING
Cooperative Deer Management is a deer stalking and
maintenance business run in Devon, by Mark Turner. He
was working with no real branding, and I created from
scratch, a logo, deer elements, business cards, headed
paper, whilst keeping in mind that it will need to be
translated, fnally, into a website. I kept the style modern,
with a twist of refnery, in the Serif font and textures.
WALK OF A WALK - SOUTHVILLE
LAYOUT/DESIGN
My fnal year project at UWE was Lines, Routes & Paths.
These books came about as I tracked the routes of
people through my local park with pencil onto plain paper,
producing an isolated line. I then chose two conficting
areas of Bristol, one I knew; Southville, and one I didnt;
Gloucester Road, overlayed the isolated line onto a map of
these areas, and found a route that matched that line as close
as possible. I then walked that route, documented everything
possible, and the outcome was designed in these books.

PRINCE OF WALES
NEW YEAR POSTER
LAYOUT/PRINT
The Prince of Wales pub on Gloucester Road, were
hosting a New Years Eve, 1920s themed party, with Bristol
band The Rin Tins and electro swing DJs. I was sent
artwork of the band to work with, and modifed one of their
offcial photos as the background, creating triangular frames.
I went with a retro style font, with a modern sans-serif twist,
and fligree detail to fnish. The poster went up all over
Bristol, and the night was a completely successful sell-out!
ARTISTS CORNER POSTER & FLYER
LAYOUT/PRINT
This is the fnal design for a poster and a fyer to advertise
the new Artists Corner, which allows artists to display
their work in the Prince of Wales. The frst artist was Iona,
Ios Eye and her theme was the photography of
trees. She sent me a photograph to use as part
of the design, and we worked together to create
something that was bold, clear and refected her work.

BRANDING/LAYOUT
I was asked to redesign the menus for the Prince of Wales
pub on Gloucester Road. They had no breif, but wanted
their identity upgrading. I jotted some ideas down, and
wrote my own brief. From that I chose a yellow, green and
grey theme to refect the colours of the interior of the pub,
and a modern, easy to read font for the main body. I also
designed the Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten free logos.

PRINCE OF WALES
NEW MENU POSTER
LAYOUT/PRINT
To go along with their new menu, I also designed a poster,
which was to be situated on the outside of the pub to attract
people walking up Gloucester Road. It was to be A0, and bold.
I carried the theme of triangles from the menu design, added
some texture and chose a bold, statement font to scream out
from the white background. We chose a cheeky sentence
to illustrate the poster, and make people pay attention!

Lissy graduated with a 2:1 from the University of the
West of England in 2010, after studying Graphic Design
with a bunch of awesome people. She particularly loved
hand-rendered design, and hung around in the typeset room,
and the printscreening room a lot. Although she has progressed
in her design over the years, that love never dwindled, and
this is the reason she loves texture in her work. After doing
a season in Canada, where she snowboarded for 6 months
and loved every single minute [even all the falling over], she
returned to the UK with determination, and started taking on
more and more freelance work. She now does most of the
design work for The Prince of Wales pub, and after working as a
design assistant in a corporate consulting company, managed
to fnd a place at the renowned Hello Charlie studios, where
she assists with boards, layout design and helped put together
the branding guidelines for the 2014 MTV EMA Awards.
Layout, print work and type is her passion, along with drinking
copius amounts of tea and dying her hair odd colours.
