Drawworks Lowering

1. Check fuel level in fuel tanks.

2. Check Drawworks clutch air pressure.
3. Check the functioning of hydraulic power unit of Drawworks braking system and oil level.
4. Check the functioning of Drawworks braking system.
5. Check the functioning of Drawworks cooling unit.
6. Check Drawworks auxiliary brake sleeve coupling (must be in).
7. Check proper greasing of all sheaves (A-Frame, Mast, Crown block; Drawworks frame).
8. Check raising line properly wrapped in sheaves and line guards properly inserted.
9. Check proper connection of raising lines with mast pad eyes.
10. Check proper connection between raising lines/sling line joke.
11. Check all drilling floor foldable/removable covers (drawworks side) have been
folded/removed, to avoid any interference during drawworks lowering.
12. Check Grasshopper properly fixed, free from any obstacles.
13. Check absence of interference with pipes and electrical cables.
14. Team of two operators, in charge by Rig up Manager, must check all rig components
(mast, crown block, racking board, casing stabbing board, belly board, rest platforms and
caged ladders, tong counterweights, and all completions) to avoid the presence of:
Un-tightened bolts;
Bolts, wrenches, cables and any objects not fixed that could fall during Drawworks
lowering.
15. Check the functioning of Drawworks frame tipping cylinder.
16. Check proper connection of dead line anchors load cell.
17. Check the functioning of recorder and chart correctly inserted.




18. Check the presence of utilities around rig up area (one telescopic platform at D.S., one
telescopic platform at O.D.S. and one fork lift).
19. Safety meeting.
20. Check the only presence of authorized personnel surrounding rig up area

Mast Lowering


After Drawworks lowering, its required the execution of the following operations:
21. Check new disposition of raising lines (raising line properly wrapped in sheaves and line
guards properly inserted).
22. Check proper installation of all pins and related shear pins.
23. Check replacement of chart recorder.
24. Check the functioning of Mast snubbing cylinders.
25. Check absence of interference with pipes and electrical cables.
26. Check proper installation of mast stand.
27. Check the presence of utilities around rig up area (one telescopic platform at D.S., one
telescopic platform at O.D.S. and one fork lift).
28. Safety meeting.
29. Check the only presence of authorized personnel surrounding rig up area.

Rig-up Manager must instruct qualified personnel for the following tasks:

30. Lowering operator (Drawworks operator).

31. Electrician in charge to check generator set and all electrical parts.

33. Operator in charge to control the Lowering of rear side frame (Drawworks frame, dog
house, etc.. ).

34. Lowering operator assistant, in charge to communicate any interruption of lowering
operations.

35. Four operators, one for each rig side, in charge to control the absence of anomalies during
Lowering operations.

36. Check absence of obstructions around rig up area for eventually emergency escapes
