Outstanding points for discussion (Ignore this for now): 1) Vehicle
Especially for the drivers, would you prefer 4WD or 2WD? Price for 4WD is ~600, and 2WD is ~450 (meaning a total difference of about 15 per person). Petrol for 4WD will also be slightly higher. Of course, 4WD will be safer though, but since were mostly going to drive on normal roads 2WD might suffice. Please confirm soon so I can book.
2) Tour Ive asked the tour company. The tour will be over 5 hours and will be a maximum of 15,000 ISK (75). Equipment will be loaned from them. The ice caves, however, are not confirmed since were going towards the end of winter. The caves might not be stable enough for us to enter.

2 Golden Circle! Day 2, Total allotted time 10 hours 2.1 ingvellir Nice national park; home to the worlds longest running parliament. Grab a brochure from the park service centre first. Have a look at the Althing law rock, where ancient lawyers discuss boring law and legislature. See the Almannagja, Flosagja or Nikulasargja, various fissures between the European and North American plates. Stare down the Drekkingarhylur, which was used to drown women guilty of crimes. Go to the Oxararfoss, a waterfall of the river Oxara. Most of all, just enjoy the scenery! (: Estimated Time: 3-4 hours 2.2 Geysir Look at the worlds first described geyser. It probably wont erupt, so we would have to go to Strokkur nearby, which does erupt at 10-15 minute intervals. Estimated Time: 1 2 hours 2.3 Gullfoss Big waterfall. Estimated Time: 1 hour 2.4 Hjalparfoss Take a short detour to the Hjalparfoss, another waterfall surrounded by basalt formations. Visit the nearby Viking farm of Stong. This one is a little out of the way though. Can reconsider. Estimated Time: 1 hour 2.5 Langjokull glacier (Audrie I need help to research on this) 2.6 Kerio An old crater with a vivid blue lake. Estimated Time: 1 hour
2.7 Skogafoss/Seljalandsfoss More waterfalls! Estimated Time: 2 hours
2.7 Vik We will drive down to Vik and stay for the night. Total expected time on the road: 3.5 hours.
3 Skaftafell!, Total allotted time very very long 3.2 Dyrholaey and Reynisdrangar Basalt beach and rock formations by the sea. If we stay at Vik/coming back from wherever, should stop by here before moving out. Sunrise by the beach? :D After spending a romantic morning here, we should then move out at ~9 am to our next location. Remember to pack lunch! 3.3 Svartifoss Reach here at around 11/12 am. Basalt waterfall. From here, take a quick trek to Sjonarnipa for the view. Estimated Time: 2-3 hours 3.6 Hiking (Dora I need you to go research this) Skaftafell is most rewarding for those who penetrate farthest into the park. The easiest trail leads from the visitor center to the glacial tongue Skaftafellsjkull, and takes about 30 minutes each way. The glacier has retreated for several years, as witnessed by moraines marking its old borders, and you can observe how vegetation reasserts itself in the glacier's wake. Some visitors poke around on the glacier itself, but they're taking a significant risk. This walk is perfectly nice but rather misses the point of the park, since you can drive right up to several equally interesting glacial tongues east of here. [Svinafellsjkull, a stranger, spikier, less touristed version of Skaftafellsjkull, is reached by leaving the park and turning left on a signposted gravel road, just east of the entrance. You can park 300m (984 ft.) away and walk right up to it, though climbing on it is unsafe.] An ideal 2- to 3-hour hike takes in the magnificent Svartifoss waterfall, the Sjnarsker viewpoint, and the turf-roofed Sel farmhouse, built in 1912. Svartifoss (Black Waterfall) was named for its striking formation of black basalt columns eroded from below, forming an overhang resembling a pipe organ. The Sjnarsker viewpoint is about 20 minutes past Svartifoss. The farm site known as Sel (which simply means "Hut") was originally 100m (328 ft.) farther downhill, but was relocated in the mid-19th century to escape the encroaching sands.

Dettifoss waterfall Dettifoss is Europes mightiest waterfall. It is 44 m high and about 100 m wide. Further south is another called Selfoss, 10 m high, and further north the Hafragilsfoss (27 m high). It is possible to reach the waterfalls from both sides of the glacial river J okulsa, but one has to be careful when traversing the rugged terrain on foot. Dettifoss is the southernmost part of the National Park J okulsargljufur and the canyon below is a miniature replica of the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA.
