Pool and Clubhouse Security-
One year later
T
he topic of conversation in the neighbor-
hood last summer focused on pool securi-
ty. The pool was vandalized several times
during the pool season and the new fence
and security system was the result of a positive
neighborhood vote for a one-time special assess-
ment to finance the project.

The cost to remove the old fence and install the
new was $14766.00. Atlas security installed wiring
and set up a security system with key fobs for the
fence at an additional cost of about $4500.00.

The fence and security system were installed just in
time for opening the pool on Memorial Day week-
end. Key fobs were distributed on May 24.

The flower planters at the pool look especially nice.
They were planted and maintained by Damon
Johnson of Johnson Lawns.

We are over halfway through the pool season and
no incidents of vandalism have occurred! The pool
gates automatically lock every evening at 9 pm and
reopen every morning at 9 am. The height of the
fence and the spear-design create a more imposing
structure than the previous fence did. The pool and
clubhouse seem to be much more secure this season.

Additionally, all pool security lights were updated and
the pool is well-lit at night. New signs were made and
are posted in highly-visible areas near the pool gates
to notify others that the pool is for residents only and is
secured by Atlas Security.

Residents quickly discov-
ered the new grill that was
purchased for residents to
use at the pool. When
using the grill, please re-
member to thoroughly
clean it and cover it after-
wards. This is a nice
amenity!

Atlas Security installed
an emergency switch
near the West Pool gate that can be used to open the
gate if a key fob doesnt work or if the system goes
down. The button is located in a gray box near the
glass doors of the clubhouse.

We request that residents do not
prop open pool gates. This has oc-
curred several times this season and it
defeats the purpose of having gates.
Atlas security recently set up a notifica-
tion alert system to contact Board
members when the pool gates are
propped open. Key fob information is
also recorded and residents who pur-
posefully leave the gates propped
open will have pool privileges revoked.
Please make sure that your adolescent
children and/or grandchildren are
aware of this since this seems to be happening when
this age group is at the pool.

Still need a key fob?
Please contact the pool manager, Rick Petitt , for a
key fob. His contact number is (573) 821-2020. Rick
has done a fantastic job taking care of the pool this

installed them himself. He also checks the pool and clubhouse daily.

The pool will be closed for the season after Labor Day weekend. Thank you to all residents for
contributing to another great summer at the pool!

During the fall, the Board will be looking at estimates to repair/seal the pool deck and tennis
courts. These items will be included in the annual budget for 2015.
