Your Success By Lisa Cherney It may sound counter-intuitive, but fear, resistance and failure are central to your success as an entrepreneur! In fact, if you can embrace these feelings and actions, then you may be on the verge of a business breakthrough and a spiritual one, too. Lets face it, all entrepreneurs, no matter how successful they are, hit a rough patch now and then. This is something I like to call the dark-night-of-the-business-soul. Believe me, I know because Ive been there myself (more than once!) Does this sound at all familiar? Youre procrastinating big tasks that are central to your success; youre spending a lot of time networking, but have too few clients to show for it (youre having trouble selling yourself); your head and heart are often in conflict; and most importantly, you are just not having fun anymore? If you said yes to any of these, then you are likely suffering from dark nights. Ive seen so many people struggling recently with these dark nights believe me, you are not alone. So how do you get past them? Its all about starting from the inside out and defining what it is that you really want to do. Its about finding the clarity you need to define your business strategy and leap frog forward.
Spiritual Strategy # 1 Continued My entire journey as an entrepreneur has been about integrating my spiritual understanding with my professional knowledge. When those two things merge, magic happens. I feel whole and complete, I dont worry, I have confidence, I offer products that resonate with people, and people invest a lot of money in my programs. If you can learn to embrace your failures, use them to your advantage and take the next step forward, it will be like entering a wormhole and coming out five years in the future living the life and running the business of your dreams. If you can face these dark nights head on, learn from them and break through them, you are on the verge of a massive, life and business-changing experience that will change everything.
Spiritual Strategy # 2: The 7 Gi fts That Gi ve You Everythi ng By Derek Rydall Nothing enters into this world except through the process of giving. If we dont give, there cant be more. If you want more to come into your life, you must let more life come out of you! You are a divine power plant, and a power plant doesnt receive energy, it generates it. Even the word human comes from a Sanskrit term for man that means The Dispenser of Divine Gifts. Thats who you are, thats why you came here you really are Gods gift to this world! But there are many forms of giving. And you must engage all of them to fully activate the Generator in that divine power plant and create unlimited abundance in your experience. The 7 Gifts of the Divine Dispenser Giving Forth: Share your time, talent, and treasure Giving Away: Circulate what you no longer need/use Giving Up: Release habits, criticism, complaints, judgment Giving In: Let go of resistance, surrender to whats emerging Forgiving: Free yourself and others from emotional debt Giving to Yourself: Give you what you seek from others Giving Thanks: What you appreciate, appreciates
Spiritual Strategy # 2 Continued I invite you to activate this divine power plant like never before to tune in, turn it on, and let it shine! To do this, look at each life structure (Health, Wealth, Work, Relationships, Spirituality, Service, Personal Development) and notice where youre still trying to get something. It could be love, approval, respect, validation. Or if its something material, ask what it symbolizes for you, what it stands for. For example, money might equal safety, security, power, worth. Translate the physical into the spiritual quality. Then actively give these to yourself each day, by asking: What would it look like to totally respect/love/approve myself? etc. and follow the guidance! If youre really ready to activate your unlimited wealth and fulfill your destiny, I invite you to join the The 40-Day Giving Challenge To be part of this, every day for the next 40 days, ask where you can give more in one of these life structures and/or in regards to one of the 7 Gifts above. You might pick one area to grow each day, or each week. This is just the beginning of a life of awakened wealth and abundance. To Your Emergence!
Spiritual Strategy # 3: Enj oy Busi ness Success & Happi ness by Learni ng to Devel op an Obj ect of Medi tati on By Eva Gregory Meditation can do so much more than just help you relax. It is especially effective for busy entrepreneurs who consistently have a lot of plates spinning at once. A technique I live by is developing an object of meditation. This one technique can transform your business, improve your life and bring you more happiness. In fact it was responsible for me bringing in almost $200,000 from one afternoons meditation! One morning, my mate, Robin left for work (a contract job) at 8am and was back home before 10am. What the heck? Turns out the company he was working for decided to drop the project he was involved in without notice. Yikes! I had been telling him for a while that I didnt care if he ever worked again because I knew how unhappy he was at this job. Well, be careful what you ask for. This wasnt exactly the way I had pictured it unfolding. Now I had to figure out a way to bring in enough income to match what hed been bringing in...along with what I was already making. After a few minutes of panic, I finally got still and used the technique for developing an object of meditation to find a solution. From this one meditation, I received the idea for launching a year-long group program that created almost $200,000 in additional revenue in my business over the next year.
Spiritual Strategy # 3 Continued Methods for Developing an Object of Meditation 1) Get into position. Start out in whatever position is comfortable for you, in a chair or on the floor. Take a few minutes to slow down and observe your breath. 2) Know your purpose. Plan in advance. Be prepared with the object that you want to ponder. 3) Analyze the topic. Talk to yourself silently. Reflect on what your object of meditation means to you, how it affects the quality or success of your business, and whatever feelings it evokes. 4) Place your mind on your feelings. Once your feelings are vivid, stop and focus your mind on that sensation. Hold it for as long as possible. 5) Bring yourself back. Other thoughts will arise. When you catch yourself wondering if that proposal got done by your sales manager, release that thought and go back to your original object. 6) Progress incrementally. Five minutes of high quality meditation beats a half hour of worry or lolling around. Start out with sessions of a few minutes and add a few more minutes each day. Work your way up to twenty minutes a day or any interval that you feel comfortable with. 7) Stay in balance. Try to find the point where you feel relaxed and focused. Avoid the extremes of struggling to suppress distracting thoughts or letting your mind roam free. 8) Save distracting thoughts for later. Some of those extraneous thoughts may be interesting. Take note of them and put them aside for another time. You may even want to keep a pencil and writing pad nearby so youll feel confident that youll get back to them after your session is over. 9) Give yourself a homework assignment. Apply what you learn to your business. End your session by coming up with one concrete action relevant to your object. If you meditated on patience with a staff member, for example, you could have a conversation with him where you deliberately come from a place of patience and compassion that leaves you both feeling empowered in the end. Meditation is a powerful tool for running a more successful business as well as a happier, more meaningful life. The effort you put into developing an object of meditation will pay off for you in extraordinary ways! Try it. I think youll like it!
Spiritual Strategy # 4: Cel ebrate Yoursel f By Lisa Cherney When was the last time you celebrated yourself? When was the last time you toasted to all that youve accomplished? Do you say, Thank you, or That a girl, you did it! to yourself on a regular basis? This is not a small thing to be taken lightly. All the books say to celebrate your accomplishments, but they dont say that this it essential to feeling joy and success. When we dont celebrate our success we are letting it die. When it dies it takes a small piece of us with it. Yes, I mean when we dont say, You go girl! or Great job! its like we are ignoring our progress, our work and our efforts.; When we ignore them, its like they didnt happen. Its like our efforts have gone unnoticed. Give Yourself Credit Often, instead of giving ourselves credit, we look for validation outside. We want it from our clients, parents, teachers, spouses and even our children. We feel like they dont appreciate us. I say its time we learn to acknowledge ourselves. Whenever you are looking for outside validation, take it as an opportunity to give it to yourself instead. Whatever you wish they were saying, say it to yourself! Just think, you can tell yourself good job, you are brilliant, I would hire you in an instant and pay you lots of money! Wouldnt it be powerful to give ourselves the validation we seek outside? Hey, we talk to ourselves all the time, but often they are not loving, validating thoughts. Its a skill we already have, and its time we use it for good and not evil! All the time we have spent seeking validation, praise, acknowledgment or love from outside, it has been within us waiting to be tapped. It is inside you in abundance just longing to be accessed. What would it feel like to tap into that power? And if you are a caregiver (i.e. parent, coach, healer, teacher) you are accustomed to doing this for other people, so you have an even deeper well to access because you already have the words. Those words are often for other people, but it is time to use them for yourself.
Spiritual Strategy # 4 Continued Pretend you are coaching yourself. Pretend you are your own client, pretend you are your child. Ask, What would I say to them? Then just say it to yourself!!! Just imagine what it would be like if you never were longing for someone else to say, Im so proud of you! or someone else to say, Good Job! or someone else to say, I love you. How powerful that would be! Filling Yourself Up Now when you are looking for this from others, know this is a sign you are feeling empty and its time to fill yourself up. Take it as a sign to do self-care, to take time to celebrate, to take time to ask yourself why you are so great. In fact, this is your assignment: ASSIGNMENT: Open a new document on your computer, take out a fresh piece of paper or your journal and ask yourself these questions: Why do people like spending time with me? How do I help people (friends, family, clients or co-workers)? What do people say when they recommend me to a friend? What are my talents and passions? Let the answers flow in. Accept it as the truth. Then, use it for your marketing or in job interviews!! Read it when you feel down, and practice saying these things until they feel like second nature. You see, that is how it flows into how you communicate for your business or work of purpose. If you are not praising yourself on a regular basis how are you going to sell yourself to a client and how are you going to talk about your accomplishments? It is all for the greater good of sharing your purpose with the world. Whatever that purpose may be. So please go out there and celebrate what is great about yourself and celebrate what your fans know to be true: you are unique and that is why we want to be with you AND do business with you. So, start with praising yourself and we will praise you too. However, it wont be what you need it will just be the icing on the cake!!
Spiritual Strategy # 5: Ground Yoursel f to GROW Your Profi ts! By Amethyst Wyldfyre Grounding is one of the most powerful and important strategies that I use in my own life and business and its one of the very first things all of my clients learn to practice throughout our work together. Grounding not only has psychological benefits, it also has health and wealth benefits too! When we are grounded we are able to have our Channel WIDE OPEN and to flow life force energy through our entire being. This life force energy is then deposited through us into the earth and activates the earth matrix and the law of attraction to draw to us all the material, physical, financial and elemental resources we desire to manifest and actualize the creations that we are dreaming of creating! Its especially important to ground when you are a messenger. Your message is like a 50,000 watt BOLT OF LIGHTENING that is coming THROUGH you to ACTIVATE your audience. You are the CONDUIT through which this energy flows. If you arent grounded youll be all over the place with your message. People will be confused about who you are and what you are trying to communicate to them and your cash flow results will mirror that confusion. Even if you are able to make the connection with some people in all likelihood those people may be just as scattered, unfocused and confused themselves and probably will have difficulty following through with your work or coming up with the investment necessary to work with you. This is NOT a recipe for profits!!
Spiritual Strategy #5 Continued Grounding means to gather all your energy and power and to connect with the earth. This is BEST accomplished by actually spending time OUTSIDE off line!! In NATURE! Love mama nature!! Shes AWESOME. All that we are as physical beings comes from the elements that are present here on earth. The side benefit of going outside is that you can also establish some very powerful relationships with the land, with the tree beings, the flower beings, the rivers, the oceans, the mountains, the stone people, the animal and bird people and even the cloud people! These relationships will then work to bring you signs, omens, serendipitous meetings, connection points and guidance. Nature is FULL of support for you and wants you to be FRUITFUL and PROFITABLE. There is no better way in my mind to tap into total profitability than by GROUNDING yourself right here on the planet and not just going outside for grounding purposes but really thoroughly, completely and totally immersing yourself in the incredible BEAUTY and BOUNTY that Nature has to offer. Model yourself and your business along the lines of Mama Natures model and you cant help but be WYLDLY successful!
Spiritual Strategy # 6: Intui ti on and Busi ness: There s No Excepti on By Lisa Cherney Everyday I ask myself what my intuition is guiding me to do or say. Everyday I ask my clients what their intuition is guiding them to do or say. Intuition is a powerful tool that we all have and all utilize to some extent. We call it our gut, a hunch, a feeling, inner guidance, etc. Some of us even use our intuition to help others as a professional service. However, when it comes to our business we often dismiss our feelings and concede to a professional. We often wonder if our intuition knows what it is doing in this area. As if business is an exception. We say, I dont have a business degree, Im not a marketing consultant, maybe I should just push past the feeling of this isnt right and listen to what the professionals say. Something is Just Not Right Im here to tell you that you have all the answers you need inside about your business and when you take time to listen it will serve your highest good. Every time you ignore your inner voice, a small part of you withers away. It creates a disconnect, a misalignment and over time your business (and life) begins to feel out of sorts. Youll feel like something is just not right. That something is all those times you dismissed your intuition and yielded to an external influence instead. Its time to trust yourself.
Spiritual Strategy # 6 Continued Here are six signs that you may need to stop what you are doing and take time to listen to your intuition: 1. You are going around and around in your mind about something and feel confused or stuck. 2. You say, I just need to figure this out! (Whenever I hear myself say this I know I need to switch from my head to my heart.) 3. Money is the prominent decision making factor. 4. When you feel the slightest feeling of obligation, guilt or should. 5. You keep asking others for advise and it makes you more confused. 6. You are relying on the advice of experts at the exclusion of looking inside yourself. That Crossed My Mind One day I had a thought about calling a certain client. I met this gal at a networking group where I was the speaker. She expressed interest in working with me one-on-one as a coach saying she really needed to get some clarity around her business. I told her to give me a call, but I never heard from her. Well, one morning out of the blue I had the thought, I should call that gal I met. It had been over 3 months, but her name just popped into my head. Now, when Im in a questioning place, I might think that too much time has gone by and if she really wanted to work with me she would have called. But, since Im working on trusting my intuition more, I decided to call. She was delighted to hear from me, said she had just been thinking about me and wanted to set up a meeting right away. So, when a thought crosses your mind, pay attention! Here are five signs that your business intuition is trying to communicate with you: 1. You say, That thought kept crossing my mind. 2. You think, Theres just something about this that doesnt feel right. 3. You are procrastinating or avoiding doing something. 4. You are not looking forward to something. Whenever you think about it you get a yucky feeling. 5. You feel compelled to do something and are not sure why.
Spiritual Strategy # 6 Continued From the Inside Out People often ask for my advice, Do you think this is good timing to do this event? or Is there a market for this product or service? and my favorite, What do you think I should do? My favorite answer is, What does your intuition say? There are lots of external factors we can consider when running a business, like what the market wants, but I believe we should always start with what WE want and go from there. That is why our Conscious Marketing tagline is From the Inside Out. Start with you, get real clear on what feels good to you, and then consider other things. Here are some everyday business decisions that may go smoother when you listening to your gut or intuition: Setting pricing or project fees Deciding which clients to work with Hiring a vendor (accountant, lawyer, consultant, coach, etc) When to schedule meetings, deadlines and time off Determining what services to provide When you are having trouble making a decision about something, stop and take time to listen to your intuition. Take a walk, visit nature, take a deep breathe, meditate or journal for five minutes or just listen to music. Create the space for your intuition and it will rise to the occasion. Trust your intuition in all areas of your life; remember business is no exception.
Spiritual Strategy # 7: Ideal Cl i ent Love Connecti on By Jeanna Gabellini Its very easy to get caught up in marketing strategies and disconnect from your heart. As soon as you start pondering if this big campaign or new system will work, your passion slips away and fear settles in. You begin to question everything youre doing in your business. Thats your cue to take a pause for the cause. Push away from your desk and go sit in a comfortable chair. Take some nice, deep, belly breaths in and let them out with a sigh. Ahhh. Let your eyes slide shut. Now imagine that you have a beam of light originating from your heart and it shines out into space. Its big, like one of those big searchlights that you see at grand openings and gala events. As you follow the beam out into space, you notice that it intersects with another beam of light thats coming from the heart space of your ideal client. As you feel this heart connection, invite your ideal clients higher self to sit down and have a chat with your higher self. Youre both sitting down, facing each other, knees to kneesheart to heart. No egos or fear in sight. Ask your ideal client what they need from you in order to say "yes" to buying your services and products. Open up and receive their answer.
Spiritual Strategy # 7 Continued Other questions you might ask them ... What do you see as my greatest gift for you? What do I need to say, shift or do to help you get off the fence and say "yes"? Am I on the right track with my marketing plans? Whats the easiest way to find you? What is your most pressing issue and how can I give you relief? You may or may not receive specific answers in the moment. You may just feel calmer. Your job now is to trust the information you have received. You no longer have to convince your potential customers to buy. If there is a next step you need to take, it will be obvious and it will feel inspired (rather than pushing for a result!). I have used this technique many times when I feel myself worried about attracting new profits and it has never failed to bring me back to peace and my power. I use it a lot when Im planning my big launches. And each time theyre over six figures! I love me some vibrational marketing.
Spiritual Strategy # 8: The Power of Mi ssi on By Jay Fiset Very early on in my entrepreneurial career, I stumbled upon, or created, what turned out to be THE single most powerful tool and process of my life. It happened, almost by accident, but became the foundation upon which I built my life and my business. I was in the midst of studying 3 separate tools: 1) Affirmations, 2) Meditation, 3) Personal Mission I was also finding myself split in about a thousand different directions. I had just been fired from the company I now own; I had just agreed to pay off over $50,000 in debt to buy the company (at the time, my earnings were $1000 a month - that, in itself, is a MUCH longer story I do not have time to tell here); and, in the midst of all that, my girlfriend that I had been living with (and planned to marry), and I, had just broken up. Clearly, I had my hands full! I often felt like I was a boat on the ocean without a rudder, just getting tossed around on the wave of the momentand there was no shortage of waves. So, I began writing - affirmations, ideal life, states of being, and experiences that were important to me. I committed to starting, and ending, my day with visualizing and meditating about who and how I wanted to BE!
Spiritual Strategy # 8 Continued Frankly, this was a bit of a hit-and-miss process. Sometimes, I felt grounded and powerful and ready to take on the world; other times, I felt frustrated and distracted. And, sometimes, I just did not want to focus on this internal work at all. Now, what you do NOT know about me is that I am someone who loves to learn, integrate and apply BUT I have to find my own way (I may have a bit of that rebel gene). So, through trial and error, experimentation and testing, I discovered, or rather, developed a system and process that I am going to share with you here. It is what I quite literally stumbled upon and what has had EPIC impact on well over 1,000 people in my live trainings over the past 25 years. So, here, specifically and literally, is how I meditated my way to millions! I combined the following three key tools into my own guided meditation and visualization practices. 1. The single most powerful structure and format of a mission statement ever. I discovered it in Dr. Steven Coveys book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and will share this structure and process with you in my free gift The Power of Mission webinar. This is one free gift that you really MUST watch. It is an actual course that is a part of The Creators Code online community. 2. In addition to the powerful mission, add a handful of powerfully written, and strategically chosen, affirmations using the 4 Ps (more on those in the interview) designed to support you to LIVE YOUR MISSION! 3. Record the mission and affirmations in my own voice, with powerful music (no words) that is UNDER 10 minutes long. Any longer and I was inconsistent with listening and visualizing. Now, this combination I found to be totally life-transforming, but the real secret sauce is HOW to use it. This is what I will be sharing - in great depth and detail - in my interview with the amazing Lisa Cherney. So, be sure to register for my interview, grab my free training and you can meditate your way to millions as well!
Spiritual Strategy # 9: Mai ntai n Your Atti tude Al ti tude By Lisa Cherney Your feelings are a powerful gauge for vibrational frequency and a direct indicator of your alignment with source energy. Basically, the better you feel, the higher your vibration, which leads to better alignment with source (God, spirit, universal energy you know what I mean) and better connection with your path and mission. You can think of it as a gas tank that fuels your alignment. When your thoughts feel good, your alignment gauge is on full, giving you maximum allowance of connection with source energy. When they dont feel good, youre on empty, in resistance and disallowing your alignment. That means you dont move forward because youre not open to receiving support.
The universe cant support you when your vibration is too low to let it in. As youve certainly heard before, there are 3 steps to creating your dreams: ask, believe and receive. I learned it from Esther and Jerry Hicks book, Ask and it is Given, which still inspires my teaching every day. You ask for something simple enough. You wait for an answer you believe it will come, and it does cool. From there, however, things get tough. The hardest step for most people is receive. Thats because so many folks today are running on fumes. When you get stressed and overwhelmed then keep pushing and pushing without ever pulling over to a rest stop, you feel crappy. You become resentful or negative and before you know it, the needle is pointing at E and youre stranded.
Spiritual Strategy # 9 Continued No matter how much you may long for things to get better, no matter how many possibilities the universe has in store for you, your bad feelings (your empty tank) keep you from getting to a place of alignment with the things you desire
Lisas Law: Do whatever it takes to feel good! If you understand that: feelings indicate your degree of alignment with source energy, attitude influences your connection with your path, dont you want to do everything you can to turn your frown upside down? Here are 5 easy tools to Maintain Your Attitude Altitude: Do something that feels good. Dance, sing, walk your dog, journal, hug a friend, connect with nature do something that makes you happy. Quiet your thoughts. You can meditate, take some deep breaths, practice yoga, nap. Allow yourself to reboot and recharge. Focus on your negative thoughts & deliberately shift them. Make peace with your worst case scenario and change the way you feel about it. A great resource for this is Byron Katies 4 Questions (http://thework.com/thework-4questions.php). Rely on your current resources. What past training materials could you return to for a refresher? Maybe you need to be your own client for a while? What people in your network provide a service that might help you? Visualize something that feels better. This ones easy for me. I always think of Bellas tushie. One thought of her cute little butt and Im in a better mood. What might work for you? Maybe its your kids, the ocean, a great vacation set the scene, feel the feelings and improve your state of mind.
Spiritual Strategy # 9 Continued Really, aiming for feeling better is a good choice on any level and it is a choice. In any moment, you can choose to feel better and take action to make it happen. So you should do that. First of all, youll feel better, which is honestly reason enough. Then as a super awesome bonus, you also get in alignment with your path. How cool is that? Seriously, just writing it makes me feel better already. Share your thoughts below on other ways to feel better and lets all practice being happier starting today. Ready? Go!
Spiritual Strategy # 10: The One Secret to Li vi ng a Passi onate Li fe By Janet Bray Attwood Ever worked in a job you just couldnt stand? That was me many years ago. My office was filled with recruiters making tens of thousands of dollars every month. Each time a placement was made for another disk drive engineer, the bell would ring. But it never rang for me. I was miserable. One day I saw a poster for a success seminar. Something about it struck a chord. The next day I called in sick and drove an hour and a half to the event. Sitting up front I listened as a beautiful, articulate woman spoke about how easy it can be to enjoy success. The speaker said you just have to find those things that light you up inside, your passions. As I listened to this remarkable woman, I felt a growing excitement inside. This was it! This was my passion, my purpose in life, to be a speaker, like this amazing woman. "I'll find a way to get her to hire me," I thought, "Even if I have to follow her all over the country and attend every one of her seminars." The next day when a friend casually asked how I was doing, I answered with excitement, "I've found my calling! I'm going to be a speaker." I told my friend about my plan to follow this speaker around the country until she had no choice but to hire me. The only challenge was that I was negative in the money department, "But I know I'll manage it somehow. I just know it," I told my friend. The next day, I was sitting with my eyes closed in meditation at the local TM center when I felt small pieces of paper falling on my head. I opened my eyes to discover my friend showering me with $100 bills, laughing and saying "Merry Christmas, go live your dream." Was I blown away? You better believe it.
Spiritual Strategy # 10 Continued I did travel across the country and was finally hired by the woman I so admired. Today, that woman is one of my best friends, and Im living my dream of being a speaker and transformational leader. In the past year, Ive presented to thousands of people in Japan, Sweden, Norway, Israel and India. Its a remarkable life. But its been a winding road, and along the way Ive learned there is one key secret to living a happy, fulfilling, rewarding life: Whenever you are faced with a choice, a decision or an opportunity, choose in favor of your passions. There are two parts to this. First, you have to know what youre passionate aboutwhat it is that matters most to you in your life. Thats why my business partner, Chris Attwood, and I wrote The Passion Test The Effortless Path to Discovering Your Destiny. The Passion Test is a simple, yet powerful way to clarify your top passions in life. Whenever I look back to that time when my friend showered me with $100 bills, I am reminded that its not the how which matters most, its the what. As we say in The Passion Test: When you are clear, what you want will show up in your life, and only to the extent you are clear. When youre clear about the what that you choose to create in your life, then youll discover the how, often when youre least expecting it, as I did when my friend showered me with money. The second part of living a passionate life is to choose in favor of your passions, those things that matter most to you in your life. When you do this consistently with every significant decision, youll be guaranteed a passionate life. I cant guarantee youll have hundred dollar bills showered on your head, but I can guarantee that your life will be more rewarding than you can ever imagine.
Spiritual Strategy # 11: The Secrets to Successful Connecti ng By Jill Lublin Connecting is the art of building relationships; relationships that last. Its the forming of bonds with people that can grow into deeper, closer, more meaningful relationships. Making close connections is essential because people prefer to work and interact those with whom they feel connected. They share common interests, feelings, values, and beliefs. They trust them and want to help them more. Instead of concentrating on closing one- time sales, work to build close, long-term connections that will endure. Be honest and build trust. Exaggerating and falsifying may help produce quick sales, but over time, they will do you in. Overstating and failing to deliver as promised kills relationships because customers want what they were promised. Few will continue to conduct business with those who have not kept their word. Not delivering precisely as promised is the best way to ruin your reputation and brand. To create solid connections, follow these suggestions: Perfect your art. Deliver top quality. Do what you do excellently, as well as it can be done. There is no substitute for quality, T. Harv Eker states. If the quality you provide is outstanding, you dont have to do lots of networking. People will network for you. They will tell others about you and recommend you. People love to refer others to those who provide the top quality. It makes them look good. Stick to the facts. Its easy to exaggerate and promise more than you can deliver, but it doesnt pay. Be honest. Connect with potential customers by telling them the results your goods and services have achieved. Better yet, document the results, put on demonstrations, and show them proof. Provide them with endorsements from satisfied customers; take them to sites to your goods or services in operation with other customers. Then explain to your prospects exactly how you can help them.
Spiritual Strategy # 11 Continued Dont promise too much especially if you may not be able deliver. Be completely honest. Its better to lose a sale and stay on good terms with the prospect than to land the sale and subsequently alienate the customer. If your honesty costs you a deal, think of it this way: the customer may remember your truthfulness and call on you again. However, if you over-inflate or fail to deliver, your future with that prospect will be doomed, over, kaput. Plus, aggrieved customers tend to tell their friends about their dissatisfaction especially when they feel they were intentionally deceived. When youre looking for business, offer your goods or services at an attractive price. Be fair and dont gouge; build trust. Give potential customers a price incentive for giving you their business. When you have performed well for them, you can use them showcase to sell future customers. You will also have forged connections with satisfied customers who will give you repeat business and recommend you to others. Ask satisfied customers to give you endorsements or letters of commendation. Have them write on their letterheads how excellently you performed. Post the commendations on your Web site, hang copies in your office, and keep them in a scrapbook that you can show potential customers. Insert them in your brochures and sales materials. Your outlook Remember back in school how different personalities emerged and distinguished themselves. Every school had characters such as the nerd, the rocker, the jock, the babe, and the brain. Yet the one we tend to remember most fondly is the clown. We all noticed the clown because he made us laugh. He connected with everyone through his humor; by making everything funny. The clown could make the most ordinary situation, the gravest circumstance, and the blandest personality absolutely hysterical. During the darkest moments, his quips broke the tension and lightened the mood. Humor was his focus, his outlook, his forte. His wit was what distinguished him and how he connected. Great networkers also have special outlook. Like the clown who instinctively looks for humor, networkers are programmed to connect people. Great networkers constantly try to meet new people, learn all about them, and link them so that they can build close, mutually-beneficial relationships.
Spiritual Strategy # 11 Continued Distinguish yourself and boost your business by developing a connecting attitude. Be pleasant, friendly, and fun. People like to be with and do business with those they like, not with grouches. Train yourself to be a connector; develop a connecting frame of mind by constantly thinking in terms of whom you can connect. Heres how to proceed: Make two lists: List people you would like to meet. Create a plan to meet your targets. Identify those who could introduce you to your targets or people who could connect you to them. List what you have in common with your targets such as common: Friends. Businesses. Backgrounds. Interests. Values and beliefs. Create a plan to connect those individuals. Connecting is addictive. When you make a strong connection its so satisfying that you cant wait to do it again. Its also rewarding because people are grateful for your efforts on their behalf. Successful connections motivate; they make you focus more on connecting and bringing more people together. Since connectors are always trying to make matches, they become possibility people. Possibility people explore, try, and make things happen. They push the limits and dont immediately accept no for an answer. Possibility people stand out because theyre optimistic and more likely to achieve. They also tend to be creative, resourceful, and inspirational. If you want to increase your business referrals, develop a connecting outlook.
Spiritual Strategy # 12: Kung Fu Wi sdom For Your Busi ness By: Christian Mickelsen Want to know a Kung Fu secret that will help you quickly grow your business? Ive been taking Kung Fu lessons for a few months now and during todays lesson we reviewed everything Ive learned so far. I still make a lot of mistakes. Sometimes I keep my blocking hand open when it should be closed or keep it closed when it should be open. But... I noticed today that I made way less mistakes than Ive ever made before. When I first started taking lessons there seemed to be so many little things to focus on: My feet, my posture, my striking hand, my blocking hand, my techniques. It was a little overwhelming. I think a business can be the same way. We can get overwhelmed with all there is to master: 30-second commercial networking/strategic alliances writing marketing materials writing articles the enrollment process, etc. And... What happens to many business owners is they work too hard on perfecting all of the little details. Maybe you never get hung up on the details, but Im sure you know business owners like this. In fact there could be someone like this sitting in your chair right now.
Spiritual Strategy # 12 Continued My advice for you is to *let go* of the desire to get everything right. Trust your natural developmental process. Instead just do. Do what you need to do, do a lot of it, and relax about everything being perfect. Youll naturally become better at selling, marketing, and everything else needed for your business. The most important thing to focus on is getting things done and moving on to the next thing. Without focusing on every little detail, my Kung Fu techniques have dramatically improved simply from doing. Ive made a lot of mistakes with my business along the way and Im still making them. There are 100things I could be doing better right now. But, instead of focusing on all of the little details that arent perfect yet, I just keep working on one big thing at a time. *** The Bottom Line *** Let all of your business building activities be practice and you will get better and better at everything you do. What can you DO today to build your business right now? Are you ready to let go of perfection and allow yourself to get better naturally -simply by doing? Lets get people coached!
