Another case concerns the elderly relative of a
client. It is an interesting phenomenon because
the Shani-Rahu theme proliferates throughout her

faith, against his family, and ultimately
against medical advice. Because he
refused to separate from her, his own
mother disinherited him, and ultimately he
lost his fortune. He died a broken man.

The exotic element (a person, idea, commodity,
or power) Although surrounded and apparently
controlled by a rigid and orderly structure,
resists assimilation in an indirect, surreptitious,
subtly invasive way that expresses lawfulness on
the outside but a passionate undermining of the
system on the inside.
Shani and Rahu are locked in a battle for control
which slowly exhausts all of Shani's scarce
resources.
o Shani generally represents the conventional
social order of the native's own people.
o Rahu generally represents a person (most
often) or idea or commodity or
empowerment which is exotic, foreign, of
outside origin, and characteristically
incommensurable "apples and oranges"
with the measurements of the accepted
system.

Similar to the way in which Rahu affects Surya
(above), Rahu creates a
provocative, dark and smoky shadow around the
edges of Shani's aura.
o Unlike the pure and brilliant light of the
Sun, the emanation of Lord Shani is by
nature dark like Rahu.
o Like an oil stain on a dark cloth, it is not so
easy to see the contrast. Rahu "hides" in
Shani's time-fixed darkness. Yet Rahu is
demonically present, and that oil will
eventually destroy the weave of the fibers
which holds together the cloth, causing
complete collapse of system integrity.
o In the case of Rahu + Surya, when Rahu is
empowered, His smoke obscures the Sun's
light.
In the case of Rahu + Shani, Rahu
tends to lurk within the broader
structures, appearing to adhere to
Shani's rules but in truth Rahu is
subtly destabilizing all matters of
structure and principle.
Description
Shani has sharply defined edges;
whereas Rahu is shape-shifting
and indistinct.
Shani = fixed dry neutral material
such as stone, bones, sand, paper,
and wood. Shani's gross, hard, dry
substances offer many interstitial
spaces and surfaces into and upon
which Rahu's smoke may lay and
penetrate.
Rahuvian smoke can hide in the
spaces between Shani's
architectural elements = bones.
Shani rules pillars, precepts,
frames, rafters -- whatever
principles may form the structural
boundaries and rules of one's life.
Rahu's smoky Disguise
Unlike Surya whose clear hot light
can be blocked by Rahuvian
smoke, Lord Shani does not suffer
from damage to Radiance.
Shani's purpose is also
thwarted by His enemy
Rahu, but in a different
way.
When yuti Shani, Rahu's dark
desires can be easily disguised by
Shani's also-dark consciousness.
It is true that Shani can find a sattvic
expression esp when Shanaicarya
enjoys an uchcha state. Yet more
often, Shani indicates a tamasic
stubborn ignorance which requires
a great many repetitions of karmic
experience before Shani's
potentially sattvic calm and
neutrality can manifest.
Rahu's passions are nearly always
tamasic in nature and thus Rahu
can "match" Shani's psychic
energy and hide behind Shani's
often unconscious, karmic rigidity.
Rahu can literally "adhere" to
Shani's laws, amplifying
lawfulness to a higher degree,
giving the appearance of strict
austerity and conformity to the
social order.
Slipperiness
Rahu's interference with Shani
results in slipperiness and subtle
degradation of Shani's hard, dry
properties. It is as if one had to
climb wooden steps were coated in
a layer of brownish oil, or one
were trying to build a house using
oily stones that slipped out of
place.
With Rahu, Shani's ability to hold a
steady, reliable structure is
disturbed.
Unsafe at any speed
The Rahu + Shani native appears to
be a pious and well-governed
individual who works (Shani) for
the good of the collective (Shani).
One's behavior is often exemplary
in moral matters since Rahu
amplifies Shani's mandate to
conform for safety purposes, and
to apply one's work effort toward
strengthening cohesion of the
social structure.
On closer inspection however it will
be found that the native (or the
agent who is represented by the
house occupied by Shani + Rahu)
is a rather demonic risk-taker
whose actions under cover of
piety is quite unconcerned with the

Actions, decisions, choices which
are framed as being in the best
interest of the social order -
promoted as stablizing choices for
the family, the community, the
profession, the government - are
desire-driven and ultimately
degrade the integrity of the group
safety.
Disruption of steadiness in the personal
habits
Psychologically, Rahu's disruptive
effect upon Shani results in
damage to material endeavors
which require steady and persistent
concentration of attention, over
time.
The native may wish to follow a set
of prescribed rules or procedures,
such as a food diet (2), savings
programme (2), earnings (11),
religious ritual (9) or marital
alliance (7).
However Rahu will voice an internal
interrupter which breaks the
internal narrative and causes the
native to lose concentration ,
shifting the focus of attention on to
something different.
Rahu rather makes Shani's material less
clean, less touchable -- as if the walls
inside a room would be covered with a
film of smoke, or as if greasy film from a

The Naga king does not disgrace Shani,
who is already a base commoner and who
is hardly trying to be bright or heroic.
Rather, Rahu becomes an agent of
sabotage toward Shani's attempt to order
and regulate the native's environment. The
native may believe or declare that one is
following a set of precepts or principles;
yet Rahu interrupts the austerities, disturbs
the

The socially negative effects of
contradiction and anxiety are more
difficult to control in the kendra
houses which are the pillars of
social identity (1, 4, 7, 10 -
Jennifer Aniston).
In house-1, the native fights a
lifelong battle for self-justification.
The native tends not toward the criminally
illegal, but rather toward the socially
illicit.
In a psychologically anxious pattern
(typically activated by periods of Shani +

(Rahu) into an orderly, fixed, conventional

that " rules are made to be broken" because higher
spiritual values force abandonment of the
contract. Rahu periods may signal the timing of
dissolution of agreement.
G raha in domain-6 will possess agency of loss of
contract, loss of balance, loss of partnership, loss
of mutual benefit and inability to achieve mutual
understanding. Blaming and accusations are
typically the outcome of this house.
Rahu + L-7 or Shukra in addition to the presence of
graha in domain-6 should predict a lifetime of inability to
establish emotionally satisfying partnerships.
The native may perceive oneself as being very well
aware of how to craft agreements and the native will
certainly be involved in continuous attempts to make
deals and establish alliances.
However, the overall result when a Rahu + alliance
