Two lines, one infantry, one cavalry. The cavalry is more important and has more tiers, but
infantry tree is wider to compensate that.

Infantry:

H. Levy - clubs, crude spears. Robes or tunics and pants. Rarely a crude helmet or a large
wicker shield.
H. Spearman - spear + large wicker shield. Tunics and pants, also padded armors and rarely
leather cuirasses. Standard helmets.
H. Maceman - clubs and crude maces + combination of large wicker shields and bucklers.
Same armor as spearmen.
H. Swordsman - scimitars/sabres + bucklers. Same armor as above.
Karnaruja ("red spear") - heavier spears with red spearheads + better wooden shields.
Greaves, leather or padded cuirasses and some even scale/lamellar armor. Better helmets.
Narwanti ("red mace") - special red maces, some can be two handed, others + bucklers.
Armor the same as above.
Airamaki ("red sword") - red scimitars, different sizes - some more sabre like, some like the
one I painted on the Black Snake - 2 handed or 1 handed + bucklers. Armor the same as
above.

Cavalry:
Harondor Noble - sabres/spears + bucklers, nice looking tunics/robes + pants. Some might
wear tiaras or embroided caps.
Harondor Scout - spear/sabre/long knife + weak bow. Plain looking robes, rare leather
cuirasses. Padded or leather caps.
Harondor Raider - spear/scimitar + cavalry shield. Padded armor/short maille or scale. Good
tall helmet, leather greaves.
Harondor Light Cavalry - scimitar + 6 light or 4 heavy javelins + cavalry shield.
Padded/leather armor, padded/leather caps and some rare metal helmets.
Maranka ("black snake") - scimitar/mace + buckler. Heavy maille/lamellar. Heavy helmets
with ventails and metal greaves.
Karka Cavalryman ("fang") - spear/scimitar + good cavalry bow + buckler. Padded or short
leather lamellar armor. Good helmets and rarely leather greaves.
- lances/spears/axe + cavalry shields + good cavalry bow. Gilded heavy maille or
scale/lamellar, very ornate fittings. Special helmets, metal greaves.

All the names are made up, but I used Harondorized form of Quenya so they make sense.

The pink line is the normal GH one, the yellow one is the "animal" branch - a kind of
semi-religious warrior order. The order would have more fanatical and more skilled warriors
than the standard line - there's a difference more in stats than in equipment quality.

Standard line:

Harad Levy - tunic, club/spear + sling, cloth cap
Harad Skirmisher - number 3. on my GH concept artwork. Tunic, cloth cap, a bag of
javelins/sling/darts + knife + rarely a small shield
Harad Light Infantry - number 1. on the same concept. Padded armor, large wicker/wooden
shields + short sword/ spear, cloth covered helmet
Harad Archer - number 4. on the same concept. Some have tunics, some a short padded
cuirass, cloth cap, normal to lower quality curved bows + short sword/knife
Harad Medium Infantry - number 2. on the same concept and my Medium Infantry
concept. Combined padded/lamellar cuirass, cloth covered helmet, either tall or oval shield,
long sword + two javelins or 4 darts.
Harad Light Cavalry - number 1. or 3. on my cavalry concept or number 2. on my Victory
Celebration concept. Padded, lamellar or combined cuirass, rarely leather greaves. Clan cloth
caps or rarely cloth covered/normal helmet. Sword/spear/axe + 2 javelins
Dalakabira ("longbow bearer") - I think I'll draw how these guys look later. They wear
little to no armor. No tunic either, only skirts/girdles bearing marks of their victories and
achievements. Think 1. from my Victory Celebration concept without the ceremonial coat.
They might wear the clan-specific headgear with knits (Headgear concept 3.) Beside the
longbow (which is quite specific - being cut out from a hardwood tree, one bow from the
whole trunk, I'll supply a drawing) they use special clubs. (I'll draw those as well)
Harad Heavy Infantry - basically my Heavy Infantry concept. Guy number 2. on my cavalry
concept can be used as well. Heavy scale/lamellar/metal stripe armor, metal greaves.
Long/short sword + three javelins + big heavy shield.

Animal order:

Harad Novice - just plain white clothes. Their warpaint is just black - a whole face painted
black - they are proving themselves worthy - they're unclean. No headgear. They use only a
staff or a club, no edged weapons. Some have bucklers made from oliphaunt hide.
Chosen Warrior - black or very dark red clothes and no warpaint - they proved themselves
in battle, but they won't be allowed to put on warpaint until they choose which animal order
they want to follow. They use a spear or an archaic one-edged sickle sword + throwing knife
(1) + some have small shields.
Chosen Archer - similar clothes as the CHW, only some wear padded armor (cloth or
leather). Cloth cap or a leather helmet with 1 eagle feather. Bow carved out of an oliphaunt
tusk + buckler + very short spear (I'll draw it)
Chosen Spearman - similar clothes as the CHW, some wear padded armor or pectoral plates
(see my Tiger infantry concept). Cloth cap with a tiger tooth sewn on. Spear + small shield
Chosen Cavalryman - similar clothes as the CHW, some wear padded armor or pectoral
plates or short lamellar cuirass as 2. in my Victory Celebration concept, or the young captain
(1.) in my Cavalry concept. Cloth cap with a bit of lion's mane. Spear/long sword + buckler.
- Black or red clothes, leather or lamellar cuirass, metal greaves, special eagle helmet.
Powerful composite bow (mumak tusk and sinew + hardwood) + special polearm (I'll draw it).
Varujala ("Tiger Guard") - Bright Yellow/black or red clothes, tiger skin girdle over a
scale/lamellar cuirass, metal greaves, special tiger helmet. Long spear + big oval shield + 1
heavy javelin.
- Sand-colored or red clothes with gold embroidery. They can have either padded armor +
boiled leather cuirass (as my Lion Warrior concept), or a scale cuirass as the ex-Lion
cavalryman in my Cavalry concept. Over that they either have a girdle made of lion skin, or
the wear it as a cape. Special lion helmet. Their horses have padded cloth armor in the front.
Long swords or Harondor scimitars, heavy one handed axes and maces + 1 heavy javelin +
small cavalry shield.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some armor ideas for the great and far Harad lines. I never took them further than a
thumbnail drawing stage. Hm. Maybe if we need something from here, I can draw it better.
1. Tribal archer. Some kind of straw cape.
2. Medium infantry slinger - tunic + pectoral plate + scale shoulders and neckguard
3. Tribal spearmen. weird shields, clothing and a really weird hat.
4. Medium infantry - padded vest + shoulders and a high padded collar.
5. Light infantry - padded vest and a girdle (the whole cloth thing is one piece)
6. Light noble swordsman - embroided tunic and pants.

Shield style and heraldry:

Snakes, serpents, wyrm/dragons (something not obviously chinese or western would be
nice), eagles (persian style, like the imperial banner if you know what I mean. Not exactly
though, just the style), mumaks for great and far harad, red and black sun/ burning sun.

I'm not sure if I didn't say this before - Harondor should be like the moors or byzantines,
very elaborate and beautiful heraldic figures and delicate border patterns (all the dragons and
stuff), Great Harad should be more clan/desert warrior styled - geometrical patterns and
stylized motifs (don't be afraid to complement all the red with a subtle hint of a
complementary cold colour) and Far Harad should be tribal, think Sumer, Hittites. Cave wall
paintings, huge jaguar idols and carved ivory fetishes. Rought paint on mumak hide and
feathers.

Special Far Harad mounts:

It'd be nice if we did this, to have the camel be different to Earth camels in details. So it
resembles a camel, but is not in fact a camel. Something like the "large beasts" pulling Grond
in the movies, they were sort of like rhinos, but not really.
So the colour could be different, it could be very dark and painted with red Harad symbols
and patterns. The shapes and proportions could be slightly off...I'm not saying to give it
fangs and claws (although that might be cool), just to differentiate it somehow.

What shall we call it, other than camel?! Since I'm taking a break from learning for an
optimisation exam, here I come!

- mugasu/wawasu ("bull-horse" = wawa + asu)

- yuldorwa ("desert bull" = yulda (draught) + dor (land) + wawa)

The Panther Guard is a far harad troop and therefore the name reflects the oldest form of
the southern language family. I used influences from sumerian and hittite language.

panther = parana
brother = ahu

I like the idea of them not being guards, or a military unit, but rather a brotherhood of
warriors serving the black panther god (which is probably another form of Sauron).
Brother of the Panther = Paranah
