FRESHMEN: The College of Engineering reviews
applications of interested students. We use
the following criteria to assess applicants for
admission:
math and composite scores for SAT or ACT
(test scores required)
academic GPA, class rank
rigor of high school courses
(honors and AP/IB classes)
performance in math and science classes
participation in engineering/science camps,
clubs, classes
personal essay
Admitted engineering students will be identified
as No Major Selected (undecided) Engineering.
Prior to Orientation, students who have
demonstrated strong academic progress will
have the opportunity to select their engineering
major. Others will remain as No Major Selected
for at least their first semester. Please refer to
the College of Engineering website for additional
information on admission.
TRANSFER: To be considered for admission to
engineering, applicants must have a calculated*
minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher, transferable
Calculus I credit, and supporting science
coursework (e.g. chemistry, physics, etc.).
*The GPA is recalculated based on coursework
applicable to the engineering curriculum.
