“VALO THEKO” is a WISH initiative with Banhoogly Nabajagaran Sangha as a local
collaborator.

4. Description:-
This project was a brainchild of WISH, from the beginning of July, when the
members were thinking to provide some medical aid to those, who could not afford it
easily. Keeping this in mind, the members were trying to collect some medical aid to
those, who could not afford it easily. Keeping this in mind, the members were trying to
collect some medicines for some common water-bourne diseases and others. The lists of
medicines were provided by Dr.Nipa Mandal, who, besides being an efficient general
physician, is also an active member of WISH.

After vivid discussions and campaigning at different rural and suburban areas, the
members of WISH selected a place called Mirpara, at Banhoogly in Boral (more then 8
kms from Goria). This is a Panchayet Suburban locality where most of the dwellers line
below the poverty line. In this regard, a good co-operation had been received from all the
members of Banhoogly Nabajagoran Samity. It was decided that WISH would provide a
proper medical support, medicines and other responsibilities for the medical camp, and
the club would perform a proper campaigning and would find a place for the camp.
# Enrolment of the Patients:

The enrolment of the patients and categorizing them according to there symptoms,
age and sex were started on and from 2nd August. On this date, the members of WISH and
Banhoogly Nabojagaran Sangha knocked at all doors of Mirpara and Masumpara and
made a list of patients and provided them enrolment coupons for a proper management of
queue during the medical camp. Leaflets were also provided by WISH to make the
people aware about the objectives of this programmed. This hard work was carried out
from 10 am till 3 pm continuously, when the members of WISH had built up a successful
interaction with the local people. The same procedure was done again on 9th August, so
that every dweller of Mirpara and adjoining areas could take the opportunity of this
medical camp. It was clearly noticed that most of these poor people were suffering from
eye-problems; skin-diseases and the women were suffering from low. Back-pains and
pain in lower limbs and also some common feminine diseases.
